Well worth the visit!

Be forewarned: the tour is interesting and worth the visit, but the hours are unpredictable and the staff are unprofessional and inconsiderate! We showed up a little before the opening at 11:00 am only to be turned away because they had a private event. They refused to let us buy tickets in advance for the next available tour, and were told we couldn’t even wait on the grounds (supposedly open to the public) until the gate would be opened at 12:30. Returning at 12:15 we were informed they were sold out and were directed to leave immediately in the rudest way I’ve ever been treated in my life. Again we were refused the option to buy tickets for the next tour. This place is way up a hill and stairs— walking up and down more than once is a killer. Luckily a friendly older couple offered to sell us their tickets so we did get to enjoy the tour, but we were so soured on Jim Thorpe after a few days of similarly horrendous treatment everywhere else that we cut short our stay and left for home a day early.

We were treated like absolute garbage by a male employee with long black hair in a ponytail. He was rude and extremely disrespectful. He should be fired and desperately needs to learn some manners! We also were NOT allowed to buy tickets in advance.

Wonderful stop. Interesting history and a decadent interior well worth the price of admission!

The house is kept as it was whem Mary Packer died in the early 1900's. There us no air conditioning. The tour us well worth your time. Hopefully the musical instrument is now working.
Yes, you must buy tickets. They are $10 per person (cash only) and the tour is roughly an hour.
General admission age 19- 54 - $10 Senior citizen - $9 Student - 6-18 - $6 Children - 5 & under - $3
I'm not sure. We were there in September. Beautiful mansion. Great tour.
Their website indicates 11am,-4pm Saturday and Sunday, closed rest of the week...
Sorry to say but at this time the mansion is closed. You can walk around the outside of the building and and the grounds but indoor tours are closed for now.
From the Train station, cross the street and go up the steps behind the courthouse. Just a little further up the hill are the steps to the mansion.
11 am to 4 pm however during the Fall Foliage Festival in October tours will run every 30 mins. 11 am to 3:30 pm. Normal tours are 45 minutes.
Excellent tour of a beautiful Victorian Mansion. It was kept the same Asa Packers daughter and groundskeeper till they both passed away. It is all original with the families personal effects intact. The staff is friendly and volunteers. If you are in a wheelchair this place is not for you as it is original as it should be and not modernized with ramps or lifts.
