Excellent for our 5yr old. Could have burned all day there. Staff very friendly. Butterfly exhibit small but neat. Food/drink options and atmosphere could be improved. More clear directions on parking vouchers to prevent accidental $25 fee 😱 Overall a must for kiddos.

Spent an entire day there and easily could have spent a week. So much fun. Games and activities for literally all ages. The arcade and the ropes course alone we're absolutely worth it. Amazing.
It is extremely educational. It teaches parents and children the fundamentals of play through interactive and engaging activities that are frequently updated.
Yes itis a great place for field trips. They have lessons planned around the museum that classes participate in which sometimes includes the butterfly garden
Near the end of the school year they have multiple groups in everyday.
Absolutely! The carousel is cash only in from and the pinball arcade has coin machines. Main tickets can be bought online or in the museum cash or credit
There is a sign that states no coolers at the entrance, if you Bring in food in a soft cooler, you should be fine. You will have to eat outside the Museum near Bill Grays or one of the other places that allow food.
Yes. They are all correct! And it is one of the coolest things I have ever seen!
I've only ever been to one other butterfly exhibit thingy when I was little for school in Canada....
The one here at the strong tho is breathtaking, and they have all of the cacoon things as well as turtles and small ground birds! I'm sorry for babbling on and on, I sound like I work there. Lol its just such an amazing thing that we are so blessed to be able to go there and see these amazing creatures!
They are no longer there. The ice cream place is. See the Strong museum website for food details on what is offered. Bring your Bill Grey's coupons to save a little. You can bring small coolers, snacks and drinks but can only eat/drink in specific areas.
It's open! You have to reserve a day for admission - but you can go in any time that day. Some of the activities inside are closed (like the beanstalk climbing structure) but our kids had a great time! If you visit their website they have their protocols all laid out right there :)
I am interested in seeing the Japanese doll from 1940’s America exchange. I saw a similar one at the Denver Doll Museum. I was told that a similar life size doll existed at the Strong Museum. Would this be on display?

The collection changes. I would contact them directly.
Yes you can take pictures.
The butterfly exhibit is an extra charge......you don't have to pay for it right away......if you decide later while there you want to do it you can pay then.
What is the membership pricing and or where is it on the website?

Basic membership is $135. "All Basic-level benefits for two named adults and up to four children (age 18 and younger) for one year. " source: https://www.museumofplay.org/membership/basic
We spent 4 hours there with my 2 year old and 14 month old and we didn't hit it all. Definitely takes more than one visit but your kids will be begging to go back again for sure!
The choice is yours... your one year old may not really be engaged yet based on her age but there are many great things that adults will enjoy. Things may grab her attention here and there but waiting till she is a little older will allow her to really benefit from all that is available. If you want to do a run through just to see what it is about and money is not an option then go ahead and treat yourself.😉
It's not like walking a normal museum. The exhibits are all interactive. You could spend hours just playing in one area. Or you could power through in probably an hour easy.
Absolutely! Theres definitely different exhibits for different age groups. With a 2 year old i highly recommend the bearnstein bears exhibit, or the sesame street exhibit!
There is a cafeteria at the entrance of the museum proper where food can be bought and brought. However, food and drinks are not allowed inside the main museum.
Yes, you can bring your own food into the museum cafeteria. It's located right around the corner from the gift shop to your left.
The Museum also have a Pizza Hut and Subway that are located in the cafeteria. The prices are very reasonable.
No eating in the Museum area.
$15 per person 2 and over. An extra $5 for the butterfly garden (SO worth it) annual membership for 2 adults and 4 children is $130. Well woth the money.
I got mine pretty quickly as well. You should get two files, one.jpg of the finished product with the Etch-a-Sketch frame, and one .gif of the animated drawing.
Its a children's play museum. They don't have staff to assess the value of items. They have the toy hall of fame and small displays but its interactive and geared towards children. Not collectors.
General museum admission tickets are $15.00 each for guests age 2 and older.
Combination museum plus butterfly garden admission tickets are $20 each for guests age 2 and older.
There are not many from the original collection left on display. As mentioned there are a few on the upper level but nothing like there was unfortunately.
Literally something for all ages. I took my 2 year old grandson and my 16 year old (I'm 47) we all had a blast. Actually bought a family membership. Well worth it as we will be back many times
They asked about it in a survey. I'm a member who goes weekly. I would not go as often as the expense would add up. Whenever their current lot is full I still go in and circle around until 1 opens up
A basic membership is $129/year and includes free, unlimited admission for 2 adults and up to 4 children. Daily tickets are $15
what designated time on March 24th is Spider man appearing, and what time do I need to be at the admissions to get a free time admission ticket? Same question for Captain America on 3/25/18?
I believe we paid 15 per person and UNDER 2 is free, I questioned our receipt after the butterfly garden (Not included in the 15 entrance fee, It's another 5 dollars), and when I asked they pointed out that It's UNDER 2 NOT 2 and under. Also, veterans with proof get 2 dollars off each person in group, or AAA members with proof get 1 dollar off each person in the group. Great place to visit, everyone adults and kids will have fun!
The strong museum is open everyday, they are only closed 3 days this year, October 6th, thanksgiving day, and Christmas...
I believe the hours are 10 or 12-5pm
