Puppies 250. Adult dogs 150. Kittens 125. Adult cats 75. Sometimes they run "clear the shelter" specials but that is usually done in high need times or holidays like Thanksgiving or Christmas. Adoption fees includes up to date vaccines, spay/neuter, microchip and post adoption vet check by a vet of your choice (they have like 100 on a list that support adoption and voluntarily do it for free within a timeframe).
HSTV is a euthanasia free shelter and also referred as a "destination shelter". They do not take animals from the public or from animal control. They work with partner shelters to rescue at-risk or any animal to free up space at their shelter so the partner shelter does not have to make the difficult decision for euthanasia. Because of this mission and practice, HSTV receives no government funding due to their euthanasia rate being less than 1%. Their funding comes from donations, private grants, service and adoption fees. The money is well worth any furever companion.
They have different animals all the time. But puppies generally are not potty trained. Consider an older dog, they are usually trained or at least easier to train.
are there employment opportunities or is it volunteer driven?

They didn't have any cat but that doesn't mean they won't have any in the future. Check with them often, there are other adoption agencies around in Knoxville just Google.

How can I make a appointment with the human s of Knoxville tn

Danielle Reilly | Oct 16, 2021
You don't need an appointment. All you do is go there and ring the doorbell and someone will come and check you in. As of right now they are only letting one family in at a time. They are very quick in allowing you to get in and adopt a beautiful dog.
How do I donate money to my local Animal Humane society?

Check their website. It can vary based on age and capacity.
Call ahead to make an appointment. My fiance and I did not know this and showed up without one. They managed to squeeze us in any way but I definitely recommend calling ahead.
If you have a Birthday and you want a sphynx cat can you get a low price discount such as a discount under $60 as a gift for a 11 year old child. And a sphynx cat that is hairless because of family members allergies

I'm not aware of birthday discounts at the humane society, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.
I am a volunteer with the humane society. They can be brought to Young Williams animal shelter. While Young Williams is not a "no kill shelter," we work with them to ensure that none of their animals get euthanized. If you surrender them, they will be spayed, thus preventing this issue from getting worse and reocurring, and receive any medical attention they need, as well as all their vaccinations. Then, they will eventually be adopted.
Do you have to have an ID to show you live in the county? We just moved here and dont have one yet.

Just an ID showing you're a Tennessee resident. I live in a different county than Knox County.
Do you have small animals available for adoption? I'm looking for a Syrian hamster, preferably female
Kristopher Walker | Oct 17, 2019
Savannah Russell | Oct 17, 2019
They usually dont. They do (or use to) have small animal rescues bring guinea pigs. You might want to look at young williams which you might have a better chance to find them there.
My pup was neutered months ago & I can still see the green stitch. It isn't red or bothersome, but shouldn't it have disappeared? Should I have it removed?

I need to surrender 2 cats due to their owner moving into an assisted living facility that does not accept pets. I would prefer a no kill shelter. Is that is available at your facility, and if so, what steps do I need to take to do so?
What has been said here. HSTV does not focus on specific breeds, they take all breeds. So call or check PefFinder to see what they currently have. Or check with breed- specific rescues.
