Puppies 250. Adult dogs 150. Kittens 125. Adult cats 75. Sometimes they run "clear the shelter" specials but that is usually done in high need times or holidays like Thanksgiving or Christmas. Adoption fees includes up to date vaccines, spay/neuter, microchip and post adoption vet check by a vet of your choice (they have like 100 on a list that support adoption and voluntarily do it for free within a timeframe). HSTV is a euthanasia free shelter and also referred as a "destination shelter". They do not take animals from the public or from animal control. They work with partner shelters to rescue at-risk or any animal to free up space at their shelter so the partner shelter does not have to make the difficult decision for euthanasia. Because of this mission and practice, HSTV receives no government funding due to their euthanasia rate being less than 1%. Their funding comes from donations, private grants, service and adoption fees. The money is well worth any furever companion.
Yes have visited a few times in the last 3 months. The prices do seem high and are high for a Humane Society. They usually are no more than $100 in other states. I have adopted puppy's or dogs in several states throughout out 42 year marriage and 20 years in the United States Air Force. The most I paid was in Texas for our last dog through the Humane Society. it was $63. And included a spay or neuter coupon for the Vets in the area to perform when puppy got old enough for the surgery. Nut, that was 20 years ago , I admit. But, $250. for a puppy even 20 years later seems a bit much. This is supposed to be a non-profit organization. I thought. I will say, the people are extremely helpful and pleasant. I will keep checking there for my perfect furbaby.
Thanks, but that's way to expensive, considering your giving a animal a forever home.
