SLHA does not give out your specific number in line because those in front of you may not be able to prove their preference eligibility for whatever reason and the applicant is therefore reranked effecting your waiting list number up or down. I can tell you that there are nearly 20,000 applicants still on the waiting list due to online acceptance since 2014.

Are you currently on the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) program? If so you would go back to the Housing Authority you are currently with and ask to be ported to St. Louis when your current lease has ended. If not, you would have to get on the waiting list, and it has been closed since 2014 with over 20,000 currently waiting to be housed. I would talk with your caseworker in Memphis for any further information.
