Make sure to measure the blue crabs you catch! Toss a raw chicken leg in the water that’s tied to a handline rope and tie that to somewhere sturdy and keep it in place for a few minutes, wait for the crabs to come. Pull it up and have a net to catch the crabs when you bring it up and a bucket on the side. If they’re smaller than 4.5” looking at the shell from point to point you’ll get fined $50 each, so throw smaller ones back in the water! the police does come quite often to check. Long Island Blowfish (puffer fish) is edible too, check online for cooking instructions. Not a lot of meat but surprisingly tasty and are called chickens of the sea.

Beautiful and yes it is 24 hours just make sure to have fishing licenses with you because they do come to check because not everyone come to fish if you get what I'm saying because it is beautiful at night lol but really cool place waters are a bit shallow but fishable no rest rooms and everywhere near closes really early so be prepared

You should get a salt water permit, I think free. Can get at PATCHOGUE fishing, No hose water available at Bluepoint dock. Please be sure to clean up after yourself. Guys cut up bunker and leave the cutting boards and area a mess
Probably due to the dock not being safe or something along those lines. Years ago, was a bug infestation .
You can definitely fish there, it's not really a boat dock, it's a fishing pier. Good for crabbing, too. Not much room for BBQ, but you might do that on the adjacent beach.
