Note: Closed Monday's, Open Saturday Ok, this was surprising! I got there first thing in the morning. There was no line, and I was able to switch over license printed and everything in less than 15 min. Super impressed. This is one thing the government is actually doing well.

On my visit the place was very well organized and the staff were friendly and helpful.

I'm always skeptical when going into a government office for service. But the DMV has really done a 180. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The processes are streamlined and I was out of there in about 15 minutes. Granted this was earlier in the morning, so if you can fit it into your schedule, go when they open. Pleasant experience.

what is the cost to reinenstYe my dfivers license reinenstated
The DMV doesn't accept cash as a payment method. The payment methods accepted are a check, a money order, and/or a debit/credit card.
They do not close for lunch.
Birth certificate
Yes
If it's notarized and signed over to you, you have to get it put in h our name, and pay the transfer tax, before you can sell it.
No you don't
Federal Tax statements. You could also apply for a duplicate SS card.. You will need drivers license and possibly birth certificate.
Yes, you need your birth certificate, ss card, and I believe two pieces of mail with your address. Hours are listed online.
Pa can only transfer out of state licenses that have been expired for less than 6 months. Unfortunately yours is over the 6 months. So you you would need to start over with a learner's permit. You will need to go to a family Dr or walk-in clinic for a driver physical. Then bring your Birth Certificate, SSC, and 2 proofs of your Pa address. (something with your name and address on them)
Driver test yes. Anything else no
Hi I have Canadian license. What is the procedure to get US car license. Also, how to change the plate of my car? Thanks
Yes
I would first check the pa.gov cite. Search dmv. I don't know the answer, but I recently did Real ID there.
Yes, they are open
Take your birth certificate and social security card in to the centre and tell them you lost it, for a small fee they will print you another. That was what I needed last time I lost mine, as for liability that is something to ask them while your there, they are open tues-sat 830-415
Yes you can
Yes, depending. If you had a permit before, and its been less than three years since the date of your physical, you can just renew the permit. If you never had a permit, or its been three years or more since you had the physical, you will need to get the physical done
Look it up on the Department of Transportation website.
**For the driver's test, you take a vehicle out onto the road accompanied by an examiner whom sits in the passenger seat to see how you react and drive. You may go a couple blocks and then come back. The vehicle will have to be one of your own to use, and there will be a short checklist of things you have to go through, such as turning your headlamps on/off, and hazards, turnsignals n such. I am unsure about the things they may do at this specific site, as i never took the driving test here either, but they are all relatively the same no matter the site. **I do know they will test your 3-point turning and parallel parking skills as well. As to whether they do this in a parking lot with cones or on the road for this site's exam, i cannot say. The long and short of it is: if you have plenty of practice driving, pay attention to your surroundings and signs, know the road rules, and make sure to -always- keep both hands on the wheel, you should do just fine! Hope this answer helps!
Schedule an appointment by phone or on line. That is for the on road test, the application and test for the permit is walk in.
Not sure I would call directly
I'm pretty sure any day they're open, I did mine on a Tuesday
8:30-4:15 daily except closed Sunday and Monday
One time fee of $30.50
Its open 8:30am to 4:15pm Saturday.
No u need a notary or pay it online is cheaper
No you can renew it on line than they will send you a camera card you take it to the dmv to get your new license.
Yes
No you do not have to be a certain age
You can get it taken anywhere in Pennsylvania. Altoona takes pictures Tuesday - Saturday, 8:30 - 4:00, Thursday open until 6:00. If you don't have a camera card, already paid for, don't come in on Thursday, because Penndot isn't in that day.
If you want a new driver license, you'll need $29.50 check or money order. If you just want to carry a little paper card until it's time to renew your license, then no, it's free. The DMV doesn't do registrations, you'll need to go to Dunkel's services. DMV hrs for changes is Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 8:30 to 4:15
I would do the same they shouldn't charge you for their error.
Can't.... Can't find it? Lost it? You need a new camera card?
Yes, but you can get the camera card at the licence center if you forgot or lost your card.
Call 1 800 PENNDOT.... there's an automated service menu thru which you can verify the status of your license, and many others as well!
Lists everything on their website... Look under the Altoona location
