Holiday Inn Express Charleston-Kanawha City

Easy to find and located in a quiet area. Pool was clean and well maintained. Rooms were clean and well cared for. The breakfast provided was hot,fresh, and had a good selection of items. We were very pleased with our stay here.

The hotel is conveniently located next to I-77 and was a convenient location. The area around the hotel looks very downtrodden and the access road to the hotel was cluttered with big trucks parking im one lane. From the outside it looked like a Holiday Inn with its inviting covered entry. Upon entrying the tiny front desk and lobby feel more like a bad motel. Our room was standard Holiday Inn decor with a couch; the only oddity was the bathroom sink in the room (Motel style). We found the staff to be friendly and helpful (the night clerk recommended the best food close by and morning clerk offered coffee even though the breakfast area did not open for and hour.

Wasn’t thrilled with this hotel. Wasn’t the cleanest. Several semi’s in parking lot. Breakfast the next morning we came down at 9:00 am which it was 30 until it ended but there was no eggs, no meat, gravy was all gone, staff got me a banana. There were not out. But several in back room. No peanut butter. One coffee pot was empty. Staff apologized saying he was doing breakfast and front desk. We are coming back thru Charleston on our way home, but staying at another hotel…

The Big D Family

I stay at this Holiday Inn Express two overnights a week every week. The staff is always friendly, and willing to help. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. I've eaten breakfast one time here, I'm normally gone by 5:30 am, but when I did eat breakfast it was very good. Eggs, sausage and your choice of biscuits and gravy, or both if you're really hungry.
