We stayed one night as a pit stop on our family road trip. We have two small kids and a dog. Overall it was a good place to unwind after a long day of driving and get some rest. The pet fee is $25 (I believe per night, we only stayed one night) which was the most reasonable pet fee I found in the area. The lobby, restaurant, and pool were in good condition. Breakfast is $10 a person, buffet style, kids eat free. The food was good and we felt it was reasonably priced. Every employee we encountered was nice and said hello. Cons: Pet area was on the smaller side and the pick-up station was out of bags. We requested a first floor room since we were bringing a dog who needs to go out frequently for potty breaks, but we were placed in a 4th floor room. Pet owners will understand this inconvenience. Also before I booked this room I called to verify we would have a microwave as we planned to use it. Unfortunately ours did not work correctly in room #407 as the plate did not have the little nubs on the bottom to allow it to turn. I called the front desk asking for one that worked. I thought they were bringing a replacement, but they just sent someone up who looked at it and said it must be a manufacturer defect. The resolution was to take our stuff down to the lobby and use their microwave which was a sub-par resolution when you have small kids and a pet with you. From my understanding they were not planning to place a new microwave in the room so if you need one, make sure you do not stay in room #407.

Positive: The hotel was very clean and the staffs were very friendly! They sanitized the entire hotel very well. It smelled very good when walked into the hotel and the room. The room we had was very spacious, comfortable, and clean. Negative: None

Enjoy staying at this hotel because the staff is friendly and make you feel at home. The food is great and the housekeeping staff is friendly. My room is always clean. The maintenance team are always willing to help you and they even offer to take luggage to your vehicle. Thanks for the great service.

I stayed at this Holiday Inn in April 2022, and I am absolutely thrilled that I selected this hotel for my visit in Charleston! I was a little apprehensive at first because the hotel bills itself as “pet-friendly” (and it’s fair to say that I’m the opposite of an animal lover), but I read through dozens of reviews noting the cleanliness of this place, so I pulled the trigger (plus, how could I say no to that awesome-looking pool?). I’m so glad I did! Everything about my stay was excellent - the location just off the highway with tons of parking was super convenient, check-in/out was easy, the staff was friendly, the room and amenities were pristine (not covered in dog-hair and smelly at all, which is always what I imagine something “pet-friendly” being), and the pool was even better than it looked in the photos. If ever I’m back in Charleston, I would certainly stay here again, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a great hotel in a convenient spot at a fair price. One other thing that’s probably worth commenting on: another reviewer mentioned that the noise from the nearby train was a bit of an issue for him. I was a bit nervous about this because I’m a very light sleeper, but I put on some white noise while I slept and had no problems at all (I could hear it very faintly over my white noise if I happened to be specifically listening for it at the exact time it was going by). Most of the other hotels in the area are in pretty much the same place, though, so I’m not sure this can be avoided except by choosing to stay in another location entirely.
