It could be all 5 stars without much effort. Great location, good staff, older building that has been updated nicely. Good beds, good bathrooms, solid property. Smart to have a small lobby bar, but everyone should out exploring the brew pubs and awesome bar options all over town. Great view from upper floors!

Pleasant atmosphere in the lobby with nice artwork all around. The breakfast does not need to cost 18 dollars. While it is better than other hotels' I've been to in the past with included breakfasts at no extra fee and still enjoyable, not worth 18 dollars in my opinion. The room I slept in was clean and nice, except for the ceiling above the air conditioner which was falling apart and moldy, and the lack of a lock on the bathroom door. What I thought was very neat was the bathroom mirror, which had an undetectable rectangular section in the middle, approximately shoulder to head height, that was seemingly made of some different type of glass or material that is resistant to fog. When I finished my shower, I noticed that all of the mirror was entirely fogged up, except for the middle section, which remained clear and reflected perfectly, allowing me to see my face and shoulders without a problem. I like that!

Beautiful hotel with great views and a nice interior design, and in a great location, very walkable to all areas of the city and easy parking. The front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating to a few of our requests (early check-in, high floor). A few complaints: - we were told at check-in that there would be no housekeeping service and no one would be entering our room unless we requested housekeeping. Not a problem. We did not make any housekeeping requests, yet came back to a cleaned room during one of the days of our stay. We were happy to have had the room cleaned, but we were a bit concerned because we has left a number of valuable items and cash exposed, which we would have otherwise kept locked or hidden away had we known someone unknown would be entering our room. - We requested bath towels twice. The first day it took over an hour for someone to bring them. After our room was cleaned the next day we were once again left with not enough towels. We requested 2 more to be delivered to our room and no one ever came. -Bartender was very unfriendly. We ordered a drink and a glass of water. He gave us the drink but then rudely told us to get a bottle of water at the front desk. It was very rude and he acted as if pouring a cup of water was such an inconvenience for him. Aside from that the rest of our stay was great and we would return.

We have stayed at this hotel for several years while visiting Asheville. This one will be our last. The rooms need more upkeep—sink doesn’t drain properly, wallpaper peeling off in bathroom and the nightstands are falling apart. The elevator safety plaques posted say the last time they passed inspections was 2019. But another major issue is lack of service. The staff is very rude and unaccommodating. No one was at the desk or at the valet stand most times during our trip. We had to stand around and wait to be noticed. The front desk when forced to engage were on their phones and never looked up to even make eye contact. They behaved like petulant toddlers whose favorite word Is ‘no’. We wanted nothing to do with them but we’re forced to use full service only amenities per their demand. Your membership loyalty doesn’t mean anything to this hotel. So many better hotel options that we will use going forward.
