Went to the ER today for the RSV virus. Was diagnosed by another facility with RSV, which my 11 month old has the virus as well. Anyhow I had a breathing treatment and a steroid shot in my arm. I have coughed so much my back and tummy was killing me. I also cough so hard pills don’t stay down, including fluids. When I asked for pain meds and something for the cough I received pill form. At this point I do have a IV. No fluids were given either. With in a hour I throw up the medicine from coughing so hard. Was never given any thing to replace what I throw up. I was also throwing up so hard I was having accidents. My husband brought me a change of clothes. I do have some medical background. Why was no fluids given? How come no medicine was administered via IV. My concern were not acknowledged. I had a CT scan with contrast. Was told to drink fluids. How is that possible when you throw up everything you drink????? I don’t understand how this is allowed. We have been here 2 months and was told to go to GA for any issues. After today I understand why. Then once being discharged. I asked for a cough suppressant. The doctor said that he personally don’t like giving out cough suppressants. Instead prescribed me with small pills called Tessalon drop to help with cough. These tiny pills are completely out of stock until Tuesday. I called the ER asking for something to replace the medication until Tuesday. Was told by a nurse. Go get over the counter cough medicine, it’s basically the same things as the Tessalon capsule. WHAT !!!!! Come on we have to do better than this!!! You can’t treat people like this. If this is my welcome to SC I want to go. However we must go where the military sends us. This hospital needs to be retrained in many areas!! Next time I will go to GA.

I’m not the type to go to hospitals , if anything I try to avoid it as much as I can. I had been feeling really sick for the past couple of days and it finally got to the point where I couldn’t take it anymore so I went to this particular hospital as it was close to where I live . Let me start off by saying the nurses are amazing and deserve more props. They were very kind and attentive. One of the nurses took me to the back to take my temperature and blood pressure . I was then put in a room and a hour went by and the doctor comes in . He asked how I was feeling and if I knew my temperature. I was not only confused but it made me feel like he could care less . As far as I know the nurses take down your information and pass it down to the doctor so he can have an idea of what’s going on . Not Only did I feel like he could care less about my health but he was not personable what so ever . I was given some ibuprofen and sent out my way . This is very upsetting . People already don’t like coming to hospitals , the least the doctor can do is show some compassion and make it be known that he cares. This wasn’t the case this time . I’ve been to other hospitals and never had an issue with anything . Side note : my boyfriend came here since he had a work accident . He had sustained a puncture in his knee and the doctors told him it was just acute knee pain and made it seem like there was nothing wrong . They gave him ibuprofen and sent him out his way . Keep in mind my boyfriend could not walk what so ever and they deemed it as acute knee pain? We decided to get a second opinion and they did an MRI , turns out he fractured a bone in his knee .. save your time and money and go somewhere else .

Yes, unless the testing is for labs or x-rays only.
No,there are no train stations anywhere close
They could probably cut the wires to the base, but that would just be a temporary fix until you could see your dentist or orthodontist.
because of rise of covid again ED is restricting visitors to just exceptional situations. Inpatient side is still open for visitors for non covid patients
Every medication requires Dr's order's at all hospitals and Dr's office.
www.scdhec/vaccine.gov I believe you pick a location on the map then call the number listed.
There are plenty of signs that will direct you to the exact location.
No drive thru Monday thru Friday either 8 or 9 till 12 at both coastal and Hilton head regional
No they don't only the employees at the moment.
From I-95 south at exit 8, You make a left at the light and a left at the next light. Hospital is on right.
Yes
Call the hospital and ask to talk to the medical records department. They will then send you a medical release form to fill out. Once that is done, they will send you your medical records.
