This is by far the worst hospital! They have no sense of urgency, the nurses lack experience, and nobody in that building knows how to draw blood! Had they not WASTED 2 hours of her life, my 13 day old daughter would have stood a chance at surviving. Instead, my husband and I had to watch our baby’s body go pale and cold in my arms while the nurses in the front desk skipped us KNOWING that we were in there because she had thrown up BLOOD! Once we finally got a room, it was full of INCOMPETENT nurses that had to drill my baby TWICE in her legs after many failed attempts at drawing her blood. Our baby passed away later that night. Meanwhile these nurses keep doing what they know best which is NOTHING!

This hospital needs some serious reevaluation. How do you allow a 13 day old infant to sit in a waiting room for over 2 hrs even when the parents tell you she has thrown up blood!! The nurse just sat them in the waiting room… didn’t even triage her. Whomever the front nurse was from September 12, 2022 should be held accountable. The lack of compassion, empathy and integrity she showed for my granddaughter who was only 13 days old.. We will never know if those 2hrs would’ve made a difference… She passed away that night.

One month ago today, my wife and I came in with our 13 day newborn. We informed the staff that she was throwing up brownish blood, and also her stool was black. We were told to sit down and we waited roughly 2 hours in the waiting room. During that time our daughter turned cold and pale. After being skipped an unknown number of times my wife got up and asked the nurse at the desk why we were still waiting after 2 hours waiting, she moved us to the back finally where we waited another 30 minutes. While waiting our daughter, Kamíla, was given a rectal thermometer. We were unsure if the thermometer was cleaned and sanitized, the nurse was also unsure how to operate the thermometer. After her temperature check, the nurse proclaimed that it wasn’t right, also the rectal thermometer had blood from her rectal. We waited for a room to be cleaned, the room was never cleaned and instead we were given a room where that was not sanitized as well. Once we were put in a room a group of nurses came in to help but they never had the right needle size for her. She was stuck with roughly 6 different needles and also bone drilled twice to get an IV. In total we waited roughly 2 hrs to 2 hrs and 30 minutes. My daughter passed away later that night after being airlifted to New Hanover Regional Medical Center. My daughter was only 13 days old.
