This review is solely on room 2. I was excited to book this room based on pictures but was sorely disappointed. Pros: Book with info is helpful. Within walking distance of anything. The folks working there are nice, accommodating and clean, although we did go buy new pillows for fear of what we were sleeping on. Cons: The back door dead bolt doesn’t lock. The blinds don’t close completely and are broken. This room sits right next to the restaurant. The lights from the restaurant light up the room at night, looks like daylight outside. Had to leave blinds pulled due to proximity to people able to see in the room from the restaurant. One bed is sunken in middle. If 2 people are sleeping they roll to middle. Safety is a concern that the door is left unlocked with key and same key is used guest after guest, anybody could have copy made and come back. Random loud noises at night in room, as if ice is dropping from an ice maker that’s not there, but loud enough to startle us awake both nights. WiFi spotty at best with very weak cell signal (Verizon) in the room and right outside the room. Upon packing to leave, there was a roach/palmetto bug in our belongings. Unfortunately there’s no where in the room to set belongings other than the floor.

We stayed at the Lois Jane suite across the street in the upper suite. It was clean, absolutely spotless. They had cut fresh flowers and had them in a vase for a personal touch and table set elegantly. We loved the balcony with the rocking chairs overlooking the water and being in the heart of town. We didn't have to drive anywhere, our boys and us walked everywhere all over town shopping and eating dinner. We were right across from the waterfront park too, so we spent our nights fishing and swinging while watching boats. Can't wait to go back!

Have always wanted to stay there and my husband and I did this past Thursday and Friday night. The room was just what we needed and loved the swing on the back porch watching the boats and birds. So peaceful plus so convenient to walk downtown, to the marina plus we were close to Oak Island to spend the day and not have to drive home. Made me want to MOVE there. The owners are SO friendly, love them and their personality; Ellen called me by name (and I'm sure she talks to a LOT of people in her business). We will be back

The sweetest motel ever! The owners were friendly, the location was perfect, the rooms were clean and cozy. The ONLY complaint is that the beds are full size, and my husband and I just could not sleep in the same bed. Super minor complaint in the whole picture. The owners let us use their swing since we didn’t have a river view room. It was SO peaceful and calming. What a wonderful way to celebrate our 10th anniversary!

We just stayed there this week.
When we stayed in May it's $435. It's a nice place and it is in walking distance to the main street. We loved it there.
Has the Motel reopen?
