My landlord sold the house that I was renting I informed my caseworker she issued a voucher for me to move and it expired being that there was and still aren't any places available to rent I lost my voucher and I'm still struggling to find a place to stay these people don't care anything about us and it's sad because when you call to talk to people over your caseworker to report issues they send the calls directly back to your caseworker instead I feel that my caseworker did nothing to assist me at all and it's sad

An application decision was denied on an 20 year old misdemeanor (charge) and not even a conviction! Really?

If the payment has been put on hold, then when the issue is Authority will pay everything due. If the payment is put in abatement, then any payments not paid during this period will not be paid.
Apply once the list become open the list just closed in might not open back up til next year
You would have to call the main line to speak with someone
If you are a current applicant, you can withdraw your application at any time with no penalty. You can reapply to any waiting list that is open. If you are a current resident, you need to refer to your lease about proper notifications to avoid any penalties.
I just work there part time
You can see some listings at https://www.augustapha.org/section-8-availability/
Elderly Housing for the Augusta Housing Authority is ages 62 and older. There is also Near Elderly which is ages 50 - 61.
No, that’s not allowed with the Augusta Housing Authority voucher.
Call the Housing Authority and speak with Pam Holt.
Call or email your manager or case manager and they will walk you through the process.
You will receive a confirmation number once you have completed the application.
We’re unable to give an accurate length, but the wait could be from a few months to a few years. A lot depends on the size and type of unit that you apply for.
You can go to the Augusta housing authority website sign up, and do it online. If I'm not mistaken it has to be open registration to sign up, then you will be placed on the waiting list.
A hardship is a temporary problem, usually financial but not necessarily, that causes an undue burden on your ability to meet the requirements of the program. If you think you might have something like this, talk to your manager/caseworker to discuss options and procedures.
You can stay on any other waiting list that you are on. If you receive a penalty for moving without notice or being evicted, then if your name is drawn on another list before the penalty expires you will be marked ineligible and removed from that list. If there is no penalty or if it expires before you are drawn, then no issues.
Absolutely they can get pest control. They can call in a work order to maintenance to have their unit treated.
Contact the AHA resident services department at 706-724-5466
You aren’t able to view the office letter online. It will be mailed to you or you can contact the application specialist to discuss over the phone.
It can. Knowledge of fraud without reporting can cause the landlord to also be penalized and banned from the program (Section 8).
You would need to speak with your manager or case manager. Any persons living in the house/apartment will need to be added to the lease.
You will have an interview with the application specialist to review your documents and determine eligibility. All adult household members must attend. If you bring all required documents (will be listed on letter) it will speed up the process.
Once you turn in all required documents, the application specialist will determine your eligibility. If eligible, you will be contacted with a housing offer (Public Housing) or a voucher (Section 8)
You can use the form here http://www.augustapha.org/reporting-form/ for any reporting issues.
Yes you are right it depends on if you owe
You can. Also apply at AHA building.
Idk. I waited 4 year's. I finally got here last September
When you’re in verification process you should be working with an application specialist that can give you more information.
We don't have a set date for wait list openings. You can watch our Facebook page, website, or the newspaper for any announcements about lists opening.
Hi I’m relocating from Miami dade county I would like to transfer my voucher . How do I know what houses are that would accept my voucher?

You should receive a letter inviting you to come into the office for an interview and to complete your application. Depending on how complex your application is you should expect to be offered a unit within 30-60 days. Conventional Housing is our regular Public Housing program.
The Augusta Housing Authority is overseen by a Board of Commissioners who hire an Executive Director to manage the day to day operations of the Authority.
If it’s for the Public Housing program, then contact your manager to request to be put on the transfer request list. If it's for the Section 8 program, contact your case manager to request the move and get details on requirements.
Generally, the answer is you can. However there is a procedure for notifying your landlord a certain amount of time before you move. Contact your landlord for the exact process.
How did you get the homeless letter?
You can choose between a house or an apartment. Your case worker will give you a list to choose from. Barton Village (houses) Jennings Place, overlook, M&M Scott, and Allen Homes are all apartments. Barton Village is the only houses on conventional public housing. Public housing isn't like section 8 once you move it that's it and if you move out your out of the program. You can't transfer to another place once you have chosen where you want to stay.
Its currently open now but they are only taking elderly 55 and up.
