They don't answer the phone. What is the point of having a phone line?

I remember DFACS doing house visitations and making comments like 'I wish I grew up in a house like this' and making jokes with Maria Joy Harris about how 'dramatic and spoiled' I was. I've attached the police reports to illustrate why they were there in the first place.

It was ridiculous. I have uploaded the paperwork 3 times since 8/28/19. My kid is asthmatic so I need an answer or at least for them to process the paperwork! I got to leave my job and get there at 3:45. They had the decency to tell me no more numbers. I didn’t care and told them I will wait till someone see me. I still gave the paperwork to a caseworker in her hand on October 23!!! Can you believe that today is 12/9/19 and I still don’t have an answer or an approval for peach care for kids! I called peach care for kids already and they said it’s still showing pending!!! They should close that office!! They don’t care of kids being jeopardized without insurance!!!
This is disgusting why does the lodge or defac allow this behavior?i guess lodge only wants money?
Georgia's assistance phone system is RETARDED. Impossible to speak to a human being.
Ur not the only one
You will have to close your case in the state you are in and then, you will have to start a new case in Georgia
Your best bet always to go up to the office
It can, but that authority rests with the juvenile court judge to order. Cases and situations are always different so it all depends on the circumstances.

Yes it is open but only to grab applications !!
If you need to check your benefit status you can call your local office, go to gateway.ga.gov and log in to your account. If you don't have one create and follow steps. Dial 18774234746 for assistance.
You have to go to the one for the county you were in. Evennof you went to another facility in Cobb you still have to wait in line then wait again for a response if you have a case pending. I don't know your situation if it's new application or a renewal. So I can't really give you any specific answer but im not aware of any rush situations. But if they drag their feet they do give back months all at once. I renewed once and didn't get mine for 2 months, but then it all game together. That was the most stressful, sad and nerve wrecking period ever. And I went up there 3 times and still had to wait 2 months. Due to processing. It's the system, unfortunately.
In the letters sent to your address, the name should be in a corner above
Cobb County Courthouse
Check your account on WWW.GATEWAY.GA GOV
Yes, open Mon -Friday 8-5, but will be closed o. 1/21 for MLK. But I suggest getting there early morning, because the lobby gets packed. Also just fyi they are behind in processing cases.
No, they are closed the 24 and 25 for the holiday.
Early in the morning.

You dont need to transfer it but you do need to report the change of address and if there are any shelter changes such as house hold composition...rent ..utilities etc. And you can do that on www.gateway.ga.gov
Need to get legitimized if you're not on the baby's birth certificate and then you got to get an attorney petition the court with for illegal rights
1.855.GACHILD (422.4453) to report child abuse and/or neglect. Child abuse and/or neglect reports are taken 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If it is an emergency, always call 911.
You have to apply at the DCFS office
They NEVER answer the phone or the website. I have renewed and did what I suppose to do and they still terminate my case which forced you to come into the office and wait a long time. Which is totally ridiculous when they ask you to renew on the website!!!! OMG
Yes, they changed that back in 2015 or 2016 I believe.
Yes you have to apply in person. You can do it on a computer at the location. Also you can get a paper application at the DFCS office but you have to turn it in in person
Yes, as it changes the family income. If he is or is not working, he can be included in the family.
Yes, you can use the DFCS address for your mail.

If your daughter does not live with you or is in college can apply for Medicaid. This is for low income individuals. She can apply for both food stamps and Medicaid. Medicaid has dental and vision coverage. She will have to say she has no insurance and mom would have to drop her. It does take about 30 to 45 days to get approved. So don't drop from mom insurance until gets approved.
18 to leave parents. Whether they are your adoptive parents or not. You also can check yourself out of a mental health facility at 18. If not 18 have to waiting out. If at least 16 can hire attorney and emancipate yourself from your parents it's costly so I hope you have help financially or you can try legal aid they have family law at Cobb county legal aid.
