Absolutely horrible experience. We rented, in advance, a room with 2 beds. The room we got had one bed, along with a 'sorry that's all we have'. The air conditioner in the room sounded like a washing machine, all night. The pillows were flat like pancakes. The room adjoining room was filled with teenagers, who repeatedly tried to come through the connecting door, and figured they might as well party. There is absolutely nothing around this hotel within walking distance. Obviously that isn't the fault of the hotel, but you should be prepared to drive if you want anything at all. Even the sole vending machine in the hotel is ancient, only taking quarters. So come prepared, or get nothing.

Positive: The hotel is beautifully located for downtown/ FSU activities. Got a great price since we went midweek. Pool is nice but there is no spa or sauna. Negative: Did not realize we'd have to pay for parking: $22.50 you park, $25 valet. There goes that great price I thought I got!

The hotel needs some attention to detail; it was not up to a DoubleTree standard and not a good value for the room rate. The hotel had a number of flaws that could be easily fixed with touch-up paint or cleaning. The parking deck was difficult to navigate. On the positive side, there were plenty of bars and restaurants in walking distance, and the hotel staff was very gracious. I am likely to stay at another hotel in the future.

I haven't actually stayed here, but I did visit the lobby. It's really a gorgeous historic building with a nice little coffee shop. I know they are regular sponsors of the Tallahassee Marathon. Plus, if you're looking for somewhere with ready access to the heart of Tallahassee, it's very well situated for that. As a note, if you go on weekends there's also free parking along the street. It is metered during the week.
