Dogs are not allowed in parks containing a body of water. Dogs are allowed on walking trails.
Pets are not permitted at Carney Island Recreation and Conservation Area so that we may conserve the natural environment of the greenspace. By sorting our directory by amenities, you can locate a park/recreation area that allows dogs (on a leash): https://parks.marionfl.org/our-department/park-directory
Pets are not permitted at this location; however, we do have pet-friendly parks and recreation areas listed in our facility directory, which can be sorted via "pet-friendly." Here's the link to our directory: https://parks.marionfl.org/our-department/park-directory
No, this is a lake.
I don't think so, park closes at sundown.
Yes.
While we do not permit camping at Carney Island, camping is offered at Gores Landing in Fort McCoy. Here's the webpage for Gores Landing: https://parks.marionfl.org/our-department/park-directory/-selamenityid-8
No dog park but they do have nice trails to take your dog on a beautiful walk
Yes there is. It's $7.00 for the day.
Not at Carney island but I'm pretty sure that across the lake Eaton's beach rents out jet ski and I believe kayaks?
Yes you can but I don't know if it's first come first served or if you need to make a reservation.
No not at all
Last time I went,it was $7 to get in. There is an attendant at the gate to collect the money during certain hours. After that, you put the money in a drop box if no attendant. But personally in my opinion,it isn't worth the money unless your launching a boat or having a big picnic. I think the 7$ entrance fee is a bit much. I won't go back to pay the fee again. This is opinion only though,as they may vary.
I agree with FWC regarding gators. We love Carney island for the family but high temps in summer breeds too much bacteria, parasites etc. The springs are best. But for the rest of the year, Carney is great. I suggest adults do a good scan of area then stay close to kids during swim. Checking often, tho I've never seen one in 4 years
Cash
Its 5 dollars
Fishing is permitted from banks or boats away from docks or swimming areas. Per the Parks and Recreation office (352-671-8560), here's a list of possible catches: bass, brim, carps, crappies, catfish, pumpkin seed and specs (only during colder months). Hope to see you soon!
Yes there are signs
Hi, Cassandra! We have a variety of rentals available on Little Lake Weir and Big Lake Weir. Will you please give us a call with a little more information? Parks and Recreation main office: 352-671-8560.

Carney Island only cost $5 to park you can bring your own food and such things cuz they're already Pavilions there if I'm not mistaken but I'm not entirely sure you would have to call Carney Island themselves their phone number whatever it is to get out more information that's all I can tell you

Im pretty sure individually unless they changed it
Not within the county parks system. Although dogs are welcome on many of our walking/biking/hiking trails, dogs are not permitted in swim areas of county parks. Perhaps the state parks system has this type of amenity. Here's a link to their directory: https://www.floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails Here's a link to the county parks and recreation areas with amenities noted: https://www.marioncountyfl.org/Home/ShowDocument?id=16419
No...children die every year here due to bacteria and pollution in the water...as well my co worker hung himself in the pavilion to make a public statement. My advice ...Disney World.
Plenty of hotels.
I ran out of cheesecake I'm gonna use my ex wife's parents
7 dollars unless you say u work for NRA and support Trump
Yes
No pets allowed, I do not recommend taking dogs in most Florida lakes, rivers or springs. Alligators love dogs as a snack. Most Floridians with an intelligence do not swim when dogs are around.
I do not think so but I would call the Rangers office and ask them.
There are unpaved bike and horse trails roughly 4 and 6 miles away. We don’t allow horses on Carney Island, but we do have over 5 miles of hiking and biking trails here. The horse trails are on St. Johns River Water Management property (Sunnyhill and Ocklawaha Restoration Areas). Please call Parks and Recreation if you have more questions: 352-671-8560
