It's an open area with no monitoring and no forest guards for touring. It's a nice place to visit during the day though

I would say yes. I have been dealing with over a thousand bits form chiggers/harvest mites/oak mites from a hike on the Appalachian trail, near Harpers Ferry last Saturday.

No motorized vehicles are allowed on the natural surface trails. You can ride on the gravel service roads throughout the area, but those are public roads and require vehicles to be tagged.

As far as I know there are no areas set up for grilling like in a typical park. I'm not sure of regulations on bringing your own equipment.

It is legal on paved roads and there are some sketchy ones that would be fun. I cant figure out if its legal on the many logging roads (doubletrack). Garrett county has many designated atv trails and michaux too.
