When we started with Iora it was nothing but a positive experience. I don't know what has happened in a year, but I am so disappointment in the support staff. I have left several messages requesting referrals. It has now been over three weeks, and still no word. My Husband is very fragile and is requiring a referral for a PD cath replacement evaluation. and because they have never bothered to return not only my calls but the calls from the Dialysis clinic. He is unable to have Home dialysis. I am looking forward to October so I can opt out of the Medical plan and leave Iora.

I am new to the Medicare Advantage plans this year so I only have had prior experience with small (single provider) primary care medical practices. I was hoping not to have to attend a clinic with multiple PC physicians and having to take whoever was available at the time I needed an appointment. A chance encounter with a person who evaluated primary care systems for large national medical care providers made me decide to try Iora (now transitioning to using the name "One Medical"). They describe themselves as (1) being a new kind of primary care office which caters specifically to Medicare patients (i.e. elderly) and (2) as a practice where they take the time you need and don't rush through a visit with you in order to get to their next appointment on a schedule. They provide transportation to and from their facilities (Lyft) at no additional cost to the patient and, since we have only one vehicle, that is a valuable and convenient perk. On my first visit, I was interviewed by a health coach to get some background medical information and then introduced to Dr. Sara Peña who would be my Primary Care Physician (PCP). She is well-informed about medications and their possible side effects and enlightened me on a couple that I was then taking. She was personable and pleasant but assertive. I left the appointment thinking I was in good hands and have had no reason to change that opinion in the months since that time. Much of my interaction with the practice as a whole has been through my "coach" who is also personable and well informed. She has served mostly as a conduit for information and recommendations from my PCP but also applies her own knowledge to answer questions from me. They seem to have a good set of referrals that they recommend for specific medical issues that need specialized care. I have used two of these specialists with positive results. Dr. Peña's offices are in north central Phoenix (Greenway Rd. and 32nd St.) but I know that Iora (One Medical) has several other offices in other parts of Phoenix metropolitan area. I would recommend them to you if you are in the Medicare system and looking for a primary care practice.

I’ve been going to the Greenway location since 2019. I was very pleased with the care I received and really felt valued as a patient. In the last four months I’ve been very disappointed. We are all assigned to a health coach, which should make it easier to communicate with the office. I’ve emailed numerous times to check on my results for my bone density test and mammogram. Nobody replies or updates my portal. Finally I received a letter from the imaging center I used for my mammogram test.. I’m not sure if other doctors I see communicate with my primary doctor but my portal remains empty. Absolutely no communication or reply to my requests. I’m going to be looking for another primary health care provider.

We are open and welcoming new patients, and remain on call for our patients 24/7. While COVID-19 remains a threat, especially for older adults, we are encouraging video visits as the best first option for most care. For patients in need of in-person care, we are taking measures to safeguard the health of our patients and care teams in our practices. This includes cleaning the exam room after every appointment, wearing personal protective equipment, as well as requiring patients to wear masks when they are at the practice.
