My husband and I went horseback riding here. We rode along a very scenic and peaceful trail that ran through Tonto National Forest. The weather was perfect, and there was a nice breeze the entire ride. My husband and I like hiking to destress from daily work and family duties, and this was a great and different way to tour a national forest. Taking in the view from the top of a well trained horse being led by a well trained guide was exactly the calming experience I was looking for this vacation.

Our family did a privately guided tour though the Tonto National Forest with Shannon as our guide and it was outstanding. The horses were well behaved and clearly well cared for. We learned so much about the Sonoran Desert and the plants and views were breathtaking. I highly recommend the Cave Creek Outfitters!

There is some hilly terrain, but not into the mountains.
A few dozen horses on a few acres.
I would suggest calling and asking for the owners. Last I heard, they were actively looking for help.
