If you are a baseball fan or even if you are not, The Field of Dreams is a wonderful place. Just driving up the road you can probably hear "if you build it." Just seeing the ballfield carved out of the Iowa cornfield was amazing but walking on the field and playing catch with other visitors was amazing. I also chose to do the house tour which was awesome. While I have seen the movie many, many times out guide told us a number of interesting facts about the movie and the scenes that were filmed here. It was one of the best tours that I have ever had. I did buy my ticket for the house tour well in advance which is advisable because the number of people permitted on each tour is limited and tours do fill up very quickly. I totally enjoyed my visit to the Field of Dreams. I really felt like a kid again. Wonderful experience.
Rising Sun
Ok, so this was neat to see, but the cost of the tour is crazy for a family of six just making a stop along our travels. Their plans to expand the fields in this area seems like they will ruin the quaintness of this small town. Overall the site is very touristy.

Amazing experience for Father's Day! The whole property is so well kept. Got to play catch with my son on the field and watch the field of dreams movie!

Such an incredible experience seeing my grown sons having a catch with their dad on this field. Iowa was truly heaven that day. Beautifully maintained. Kind workers. Truly wonderful. Sadly too early for corn.

When are tickets on sale
Not sure they said it all up to MLB
http://www.teamofdreamsiowa.com/ Here is the link. Much of the cast from The Sandlot will be there with many of the MLB stars.
Every year around memorial day they try to do something for kids is what I was told
Nothing has been released on tickets yet.
We took our RV and were pulling a trailer/car dolly, there is a small bridge to go over but it's no problem and it's a big parking lot, and its gorgeous!
covid
They are not doing anything to the ballpark that was made for the movie, MLB is making a whole separate Park with a pathway to the old park. No destruction of any kind to the original Park
I walked through the corn field and even helped a father and son. They had asked me to record them playing catch. All that was free.
Aleatha mohler they where not forcing you you maded the choice it was only suggestion
There's a sign at the entrance, No Semi's/Trucks The bridge is rated at 40 tons. You could park on the road a walk up the drive?!
If you're on a motorcycle, stick with the paved road. The drive off of the road is gravel.
Google maps can give you the exact distance and directions.
Google maps will give you distance and route information.
I have no glue. I was there as a visitor. I am not a local. for more information you can Google it or call them directly.
They have portable restrooms just outside the field of dreams store
You can tour the inside of the house. There is a charge of $20 per person and it is guided by a very nice woman. If you are a big fan of the movie then you will enjoy it. There are a lot of tidbits of information that the tour guide shares. Other than that you are free to roam around the field and the outdoors free of charge. Take lots of photos
Yes, you can order from the shop. Google field of dreams store. It will take you there directly.
Season ticket holders...
Dubuque, but I believe it only has service to Chicago. Waterloo also has a regional airport and Cedar Rapids is a bit bigger (and farther away).
The actual movie site has 2 sets of bleachers that is it. Maybe 25 people each. The MLB game is at a different field and they were trying for 8000 I believe.
Check the FoD website, n good luck. Im sure Steven is correct.
Major League Baseball players need a major-league park. The field that will emerge from all that digging will be 335 feet down the left and right field lines, 380 feet in the power alleys and 400 feet to center. It will be the size of a normal average major-league baseball field.
Since the movie was referencing the black sox scandal where white sox players were fixing the game, i think the teams involved should be an interleague game between the white sox and Cincinnati reds. The teams in that world series. At least at the field of dreams, it is one ball park the white sox might actually sell out!
It's free to dp to the field and lots of info around the field. Not sure about the tour of the house.
House tours 10-4 closed holidays
They are building a temporary field next to the ACTUAL field of dreams. It is all temporary for that game. It will seat 8000
You can get in at any time, but the gift shop might not be open. Excellent place to stop and walk around. House tours are new also, so I dont know the times they are available.
I was just there at a time no one else was on site. There was a low gate over the bridge (and it wasn't shut), but that's only a few steps from the field. Pictures could be taken.
No games are played on this field. You can walk or run the bases etc. It's treated like a interactive museum.
Yes, just make sure you are prepared to clean up after them.
Well grated dirt road. There were motorcycles there when I was there.
We just went and the corn was already taller than all of us...must be a good year for the corn.
We were there in early April and there was no construction going on.
35.00 just to tour it, have heard rumors they are going to rent rooms for overnight, not sure if and when.
There are but check with Google maps to see where they are.
Just remember, check times. And check to determine if they are open prior to repairing the field damage caused by vandals on ATV's or some vechicle doing donuts on the muddy field this past winter.
I'm sure it's probably a few thousand at least.
The Field of Dreams has roughly 100,000 visitors per year. They guesstimate 2,000 people tour the home each year as they do not track the visitors.
The field doesn't close, however there are no ghost players and no corn outside of the baseball season.
The players we ran into were volunteers and came in at random times when they were in the area.
