Great outdoor range and with a cover to protect from rain. I’ve shot 9mm to .308 and everything in between. Clean range and people are always polite and respectful.
Matt Webster
One of the cleanest outdoor ranges I've been to in awhile.
GRY HULK
I can always find a place to shoot from. It’s always neat and clean.
Maximiliono Tender
Super clean and professional

It’s open
Yes you do. And don't be me and forget your staple gun or tape...lol....but the people there were nice and didn't mind sharing with me
It's $31.90 for a permit. It's good for a year. https://www.pgc.pa.gov/HuntTrap/StateGameLands/StateGameLandsRanges/Pages/Permits.aspx
All state game land ranges have to same rules and restrictions. Three rounds limit in a long gun and six in a revolver. Plus if you do not have a current hunting or fur taking license you need a range permit to use any if the state game land ranges.
Yes
Slug and Range master allowed us to shoot plastic bottles on the 100yd but we had to pick them up
Yes, you can bring as many people as you like, but are allowed 1 guest to participate with you on the range.
Yes but slugs only
Slugs only on paper targets. Skeet shooting is no longer allowed.
25, 50 and 100yrds
only slugs allowed and no skeet
No you need to provide everything
Ammoseek.com
Yes.... there's a canopy so you will be protected as you shoot....you'll get wet in the parking lot and walking out to the targets
Yeah, but I think you have to use slugs if I'm not mistaken. You can always contact the gaming office to confirm.
The game commissions web site lists all ranges and what is offered at each. This includes distances and what can be used at each range.
You are alowed to have one guest. As far as having an I'd as long as it is valid I do t see why not. Or if that even matters i dont know.hope this helps.
The fine for having more than 6 rounds loaded is actually $100 for every round over 6.
I dont see why not. I would still bring ear protection, due to everyone else shooting. Oh yah and make sure you have a range permit or current valid hunting license. Otherwise you risk a ticket!
6 max. Anything more can get you kicked off.
You need a yearly range permit. 30 something bucks a year. They refresh in July I believe
No
It's got 25 yds, 50yds, 100yds
Within the park itself, yes. But it's probably 15 minutes away. https://www.dcnr.pa.gov/StateParks/FindAPark/FrenchCreekStatePark/Pages/Stay.aspx
Yes. 8am to dusk.
It is year round. Check the site for closures. They occasionally shut it down for 1-2 weeks at a time for maintenance. Normally that's around May/June and I believe around this time.
Nope. There is one at the range on the way to Jim Thorpe, but not here.
Can you set up texas stars or any other steel targets. And how many pistol ranges are there?
Yes, set your own targets up. But be warned, those park rangers do not play around. They are forest Nazis. They will fine you in a heart beat.
You mean obtain? You can go to the state gameland website. Or google pa state gameland permit. Either a hunting permit or a range permit is needed to shoot here.
I do not remember seeing anything about police officers being exempt from needing a permit. I think you need a state gameland range permit or a hunting permit in order to shoot here. 1 guest should be allowed. You can buy a state gameland permit online for very cheap. You can double check on the state gameland website to be sure. Side note: there aren't usually people there enforcing rules so be your own RSO. Also, I've never seen a park ranger there checking permits or anything.
no. all you need is range permit
