One of my favorite hikes around! Such a gorgeous and must-visit trail!! If you like swimming, waterfalls, and a good challenge, you’ll be in for a treat. Bring plenty of water, come prepared, and be safe! After a good rain the waterfall in the cave behind the initial waterfalls would be there - I plan on going back soon to check it out!

True nature still exists. After backpacking down in the dark, in the rain (what was I thinking, right?), we only had a short hike to the falls. This hike is not for the faint at heart, and worth every second (and step). I was SO SO VERY pleased that there wasn’t trash lying about at the walls. You can spend your energy and effort here- the reward is true nature at its finest. 3.5 miles down. 3.5 miles back UP. BRING A CAMERA, and maybe walking poles.

If you hike to the main falls, the trail is 8.1 miles there and back. The path is well maintained, but it’s narrow and steep in portions. I’d be nervous to make this hike with kids, and most of this trail is not great for running. The hike doesn’t require any climbing per se, but we did have to navigate some fallen trees. I’m not a very experienced hiker, and I managed just fine. All that being said, the waterfall is absolutely amazing, and I believe very much worth the hike. Make sure when you reach the end of the trail, you cross the river and climb up the bank on the other side, so you can see the main falls. My friends and I hiked the trail in mid-April. Temps were in the mid-50s most of the day which made for a really nice hike but were a bit cold when we crossed the river. I recommend bringing extra socks or even an extra pair of shoes because your feet will get wet. We also dealt with a lot of mud. It was too cold to swim when we visited, but I bet this is a great spot to swim in the summer! Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks and comfortable shoes. Great for a day trip, but there are sites if you’re interested in dry camping. Also, heads up, I didn’t have cell service on most of the trail. Highly recommend hiking the Walls of Jericho!

I went on a cold February day during the week and I had the trail entirely to myself. I took the Alabama side of the trail and total hiked 7.3 miles. bring water resistant or waterproof shoes, a snack, plenty of water and hiking poles or a stick for the way back. On the way there are large portion was down hill, which means a large portion was uphill the way back..total killer on the thighs and glutes.

There is a campsite near the parking lot on the Alabama side, and there are a few campsites on the way to the falls. The only Porta-potty is in the parking lot.
Not that I've ever heard of.
I don't think the Walls of Jericho is a mountain bike trail. There is a hiking trail on each side and a horse trail on each side.
Walls of Jerecho is to much elevation change for a 6 or 4 year old. You risk turning kids off to the outdoors if you push beyond reasonable limits.
no you cant..they have hiking and horse trails
