The worst golf experience I’ve ever had, especially for a resort/casino course. Props to the outside service team who were very helpful and kind. But the marshals and the pro shop were clueless and bored. Never played the course before and we finished in 4:30 minutes (we stopped at the turn and offered to let the group behind us to play through) but that wasn’t good enough for them. Three different visits throughout the round and all they could come up with was “yeah but there’s a gap in front of you” even though it was a twosome. The marshal couldn’t figure it out on his own so he had to pull a power play and call in the assistant pro who didn’t even know what the pace of play was (he said 3:45 minutes was the 18 hole pace). The course is legit, but don’t you dare have a good time and finish a little behind or they will want to ruin the moment.

Had a most enjoyable day golfing. Crew was very professional, course in great shape, mountains in the background

You can rent clubs at the course or at a golf store like PGA Tour Superstore if you don't already have golf clubs. If you have golf clubs, and they are more than 8-years old, do yourself a favor and rent / test new clubs. You should definitely take lessons before coming to the course, especially a course like Talking Stick that can play long by resort course standards. Talking Stick pros offer lessons or for experienced golfers the Vision 54 golf school is based at Talking Stick. You can also take lessons at other non-golf course locations like Top Golf, PGA Tour Superstore or GolfTec (all of these locations would have clubs for you to use as a part of lessons).
