I was here twice because I called emergency services to evade a situation at home, which was provoking my mental health (understandably so). I "had" to get sent to an inpatient center because I called a second time. I spend a sleepless night in one of their torture-cell-like chambers while waiting for transportation, and while I was trying to fall asleep like I was supposed to a night aide kept interrupting me to ask me if I wanted pb & j. Then at the inpatient center where I got sent, I got bruises on my arm from getting my blood drawn and could barely even call my parents. I hate the psychiatrist who barely let me finish my sentences and sent me there. It was some sham videocall conducted by a nurse who said, "That went well," afterwards. Horrible and misleading. Nearly lost my mind just worrying about how I'd get myself out of that mess.

They treated my father horribly he said the staff treated him very badly and they locked him in a room the entire time with no help for days and that they don't care they also tried extremely hard to keep me out of the building and not let me see him even tho I was the main caretaker with all the consent for him why where they hiding him from me

A friend was considering going here, but thanks to all the warning comments, we made another choice. Thanks to all the comments!

If I could give 0 stars I would and the 0 stars go to TOM, he is unprofessional to even be in in this field and shouldn’t be in this field due to what I experienced. He came out to my house to “help” but ended up doing the complete opposite. He put his 2 cents into things making snarky comments when I was trying to address a serious situation that he wasn’t taking so serious which made me feel unsafe due to the situation we called him out for. Everyone else I have ever dealt with was fantastic but TOM on the other hand wasn’t. So for whoever is reading this make sure you don’t ask for tom in any situation that you want to be handled serious and hopefully your situation would be handled the correct way because sad to say if anything were to ever happen since tom didn’t take the situation as serious as he should, he will be blamed.

What are the visiting hours

Bonnie Crowley | Oct 12, 2017
Matthew | Oct 12, 2018

They have changed. But they are currently 6-7pm, seven days a week. No longer 2-4 pm on weekends unfortunately. Make sure anyone who visits you is on your visitors list, and they bring ID, I believe visitors must be 16 or older.

Can you use a phone and rec calls while admitted?

Hi LR, there are patient phones available from 7:30am-10pm. Keep in mind these phones are answered by other patients, so please use a first name and last initial.

What personal items can patient's have

I know you wrote this awhile ago, but they can have hygiene products, some will be kept up at the front if they can't have it in the room. They won't let you have bar soap or glass at all, even if they keep it up front. No scarfs,No strings, so I would recommend not bringing any hoodies or sweatpants that have strings, they will give the patient the option to take them out but it sucks when you go home and your sweatpants have no strings lol. Any books you bring can't have Staples they must be seen or glued together. No pens. They will give out writing supplies. Obviously since there's no strings that means no shoelaces I'd recommend bringing either slippers, flip flops, or slides. Either way they will give out hospital socks but they get to go outside for an hour a day depending on weather and behavior and they require shoes to do so. If you have any other questions relating to behavioral health hospitals feel free to ask me I will most likely have the answer.

I'm trying to locate someone to help with some answers. Who is the director there??

Anyone know the payphone #s?

A Google User | Oct 12, 2018
Matthew | Oct 12, 2018

The payphone numbers vary by unit: STC, KNE, SBU. You can call the unit your friend or family is on and ask for the pay phone numbers. While the staff may not be able to disclose who is a patient there, they can give the payphone numbers.
