We had a very nice time there. It was my husband's uncle's 95th birthday party. Nice big clean room with plenty of tables and chairs.
Soso Mesa
Amazing. This by far is the best disc golf course they care about the area and clean it well. Talk to the rangers. They were super nice and helpful and they care about the disc golf community. Will be coming here more. I don't mind the drive.

Due to the proximity of where I live, this is where I come for a little "nature break". The park overall is well maintained and has some nice hiking trails. The resident elk herd provides something you don't normally see, and the sunflower field has been a nice addition. Great place for bird watching and the pond is nice for fishing and learning how to kayak or canoe.

This place is such a cool place. Very beautiful place for any gathering. It had a wild life decor which is pretty awesome.

They are pretty easy about check out, but I, too believe 3pm is the official checkout time.
Our pond is available for use year round, although the swimming area is only open from 9AM to sunset from Memorial day through Labor day. We do lock the gates on the north road on October 15th but you can hike to the pond from the picnic shelter parking lot on the south side of the park. The north gate opens back up in the spring when road conditions allow.
Fees Deer Ridge $20 a day - $120 a week Bur Oak $15 a day - $90 a week Beaver Creek $15 a day - $90 a week
It did for this year. We did a canned/ non-perishable food drive in exchange for campsites. We then donated those goods to a local food bank.
Our camping season runs from May 1st to October 15th every year.
You cannot collect any animals unless it is allowed by Iowa DNR and Plymouth County Conservation regulations through hunting or fishing seasons and you have the correct license/permit for such activity. If you have further questions you can talk to a Park Ranger by calling the office at 712-947-4270. Thanks
Campsites are considered occupied only when fee has been paid, registration completed, and placed in the deposit box and camping equipment occupies the site. By putting camping equipment (tent, camper, vehicle, chairs, etc) on the site lets other know the site is paid for. If you have any other questions you can talk to Park Staff at 712-947-4270.
Yes, camping equipment must be placed on the site and payment in the deposit box.
You can sled on our tubing hill as long as its not open for public hours or a private rental. During public hours you must pay and use our tubes.
Theres a nice sized swimming area, however its pretty green this year.
You can tent at any of the 3 campgrounds at Hillview. Deer Ridge is $20/ night, Bur Oak is $15/ night, and Beaver Creek is the primitive tenting area which is $15/ night.
