I requested a Water Quality Test Kit pickup from their ChicagoWaterQuality program, received it, completed it, and successfully scheduled a pickup. Then they completely vanished. They never showed up to pick it up, and never responded to my emails about it.

I spent a lot of money trying to locate a water leak in my home ,which resulted in a $4000 water bill. Why are we paying double with water and sewer charges? Why are we no longer given consideration for water leaks? This is greed. I had to go on a payment plan, missed the exact date, was removed from the payment plan and received a notice of delinquincy from Markoff Law LLC , 22 days layer. The notice was confusing, since it did not specifically identify the nature of the debt, plus the one account was divided into two separate files. Within two days I contacted the Dept. of Water and reinstated into a new payment plan which left a 0 amount until the the next month. I immediately contacted Markoff law the same day, subsequently they verified the debt was from the water dept , at which time they also stated that they were able to see the reinstatement on their computer. When I asked why they split the account into two files, the representative. started yelling at me about paying my bills on time. However, the account was no longer delinquent. Ten days later Markoff Law LLC filed an administrative complaint against me for the total amount due plus legal fees. This is aggressive, reckless and abusive behavior on the part of both the water dept. and Markoff Law LLC. This entire experience has been costly and stressful. Markoff Law LLC should be replaced by a firm that is going to act above board and not use aggressive measures to collect legal fees.The dept. of water needs to provide more protective systems and oversight for it's customers.

My water was shut off in 2016. This company put a bright orange sticker on the front of my home to notify me. I contacted the Water Dept. to get a meter. They are refusing to put a meter in my home even though the Mayor sent a notice that you can sign up for free. This company has an erroneous bill for water on my residence. I know that I have to pay taxes and certain other charges. But, I will never pay for water that was not used in my residence!
