Can't beat it for the price (especially today's high rents), and the amenities, though you do have to be in the rv lifestyle, but you'll have water, septic waste station, and trash, and you get to pick where you set up your campsite, haven't been there for a while but if ever I need to, I'm glad it's there

Lots of people, cheap, toilet not accessible, there are closed days, recommend having a trailer preferably. For tent too wind and dust. Still, I enjoyed my day.

Paid $180 for a season pass back in November with my rv that I sold...bought a newer RV and was surprised that I could not transfer the sticker. If I want to continue to stay in LTVA I have to pay again. Luckily is only $40 for 2 week pass but only here for three nights. So, moral of the story here....don't buy a season pass..stay on free blm...until you sell and purchase.

Yes, tent camping is allowed. Best to locate near one of the vault toilets.
LaPosa area is open desert n is just south of free BLM camping on east side of road. 5 miles n of quartzite. Also AZ state land is only 22.00 a year. We've done all areas, n my favorite is state land. You must go on line to obtain permit n place in window. Less people, more quiet, n so close to town of quartzite.
All carriers suffer greatly in January when population expands Times 100. Still 5 bars but slow service due to increase traffic.
Yes, at the gatehouse as you enter
$40 for 2 weeks despite staying you 3 days. We did the same thing :) There's a building at the entrance you can purchase your permit from. If you arrive after 4, pick it up the next day, just be sure you have the plates for your rv too.
Yes, it covers BLM lands as far as Yuma, and Imperial Dam in California.
They say no to doing that but many people get away with it
South
Starting in September, the four long term areas there will be open and you can purchase the permit at the stations located at each entrance.
2 I believe, please call Yuma Ranger Station they will have the answer. They are very helpful.
Totally. Its a nice place. Very nice people all over. Bring solar or a generator.... The season ends april 15! Season runs from sept 15- april 15... Sets ya back a total of 180$. Or 80$ a month :-) oh also... Water sewer and trash are provided... But you will have to either tow your rig... To dump or cart the waste and water some way. Most people down here use a "blueboy" for sewage... And 7 gallon up to 250 gallon jugs for water..... Depends on your budget and needs :-)
Yes there is a charge for camping. But, you are not charged per vehicle. If you are staying for the season. The fee is 180 dollars and you will be issued 3 stickers. 1 is for your camper/trailer. The other 2 are for a tow vehicle and or quad. If you are staying a short time you can get a 14 day pass and you will be issued 2 stickers.
This is not a place to visit for a day like a park. It is just desert for dry camping. Bureau of Land Management. More like a huge parking lot for people to park. Age, Golden Access Passports, and America the Beautiful Pass discounts DO NOT apply to LTVA permitΒ .
No
Unfortunately no... please Google LTVA (Long Term Visitor Area) for details.
All but one of the ltva's allow tent camping as long as you are very near a pit toilet.
Phyllis we just love it at LaPosa. The Arizona desert is fabulous. Arid and dry of course because it is a desert. I love love the mountains and the cacti. So many. Be sure and look them up and learn about them. Amazing! We have gone twice from Jan to end of March. That is when it gets mighty hot. Although. It is not too bad this year 2019. Slow warm up. In those 6 months we never saw a snake. Nor a scorpion. They put the warning signs up around mid to end of March. We dont ride but lots of razers and off road vehicles. So many trails. Can easily be 120 degrees at this time of year., We camp near back far away from anyone. But you don't need to if you like being more mainstream. That is the beauty of it. Freedom. All up to you. Enjoy.
If your going in summer no. But don't worry there is always NOSEY neighbors around.
Why is it a good place to buy one?
If they are ticketing it has not imo affected the non paying. I would suggest calling the BLM and eliminate guessing. Go to https://tinyurl.com/y79nb258 to obtain a permit during shutdown
In Quartzsite at Pit Stop, they seem to have the best water price's, and the water isn't to bad itself. Pit Stop seems to be a popular place for many people whether it's propane, ice, or water. Hope this helps.
Thank youwe have a generator. Thanks
Looks like this has been answered so here is a recap 40$ for 2 weeks 80$ for a month or 180$ for the whole 7 month season
Linda is correct.
No charge as long as you stay there, if you don't pay to stay, you can't use the dump station or water.
No
No, but you'll need to camp within 500 feet of vault toilet. They are available in La Posa north, south, and tyson wash.
There is ten thousand acres it costs 40. Dollars for two weeks 80 dollars per month or 180 dollars for 7 months. The whole area is open just pick a spot as close or as far away from anyone. There is free water and dump for your black water or dry camp in a tent or in your vehicle. The place is fantastic sunrises and sunsets are like a dream. I am sitting by the campfire looking at the most incredible stars right now. And listening to the coyotes cry. It is so peaceful. The days are still in the 80s
