Great Station. Great Food Place. Friendly and Efficient Ticket People. They are The Best Part of Metra. Also Conductors Are Awesome!

Yaaaas Roaches at the Metra!! Slay queen!! I was about to head catch my train when I saw this little creature was crawling around the concession stand and I kicked it around to see what it was. Sure enough it's a good sized roach scrambling to get away from me. After about a minute of messing with it I did in fact squish it but we really should be cleaning our establishments regularly especially in THIS city.

The North end and final stop of the “Rock Island” Metra line. Beautiful plaza, down and to the west of the station. They are professional and it’s known as the most reliable METRA line.

An open air 7 track train station. There is a small waiting room that is indoors with bathrooms and a small beverage bar.

Couple blocks.
Almost an hour
At the ticket window in the station across from the tracks, or on the Ventra app.rhere are also two vending machines.
On weekdays, the last outbound Metra train leaves at 23:45, and the last inbound arrives at 23:10. On weekends, the last outbound is at 00:30 (Saturday) and 23:15 (Sunday), and the last inbound arrives 23:49 (Sat) and 21:49 (Sun).
You can catch the pink line from LaSalle/Van Buren station, one block north.
The last train of the night departs to Joliet at 11:45. If you need later, consider using the Metra Electric District, which departs Millennium Station at 12:50. I would plan it out ahead of time, but just know that the Electric District is also an option (From Joliet through Mokena, just hop on I-80 and get off around Dixie Hwy and park at Hazel Crest or Calumet. If you live further north, 159th Street or 147th Street will take you in that direction). I would suggest planning your trip in advance if you might be downtown late
No, it does not.
No there is no train service to Plainfield .
Between 0.7 and 0.8 miles depending on your route according to Google Maps. That's about ~15 minutes on foot or 5-6 minutes by car.
It's downtown Chicago...so absolutely! And it won't be cheap! My advice, park at an outlying station and commute in
You actually want the Blue Line Subway Station, which is under this (Metra) station. Easy walk from your hotel. North on Michigan Ave one block to Congress Pkwy, take a left (west), few blocks go down to the subway station
