The halfpipe was sick, 16ft walls with 2ft of vert. The skate sno park was on fire. Killer set up hips, rollers, quarter pipe, volcanos, jumps, step ups, boxes, rails, wall rides, dropping in on your left. Had a big barn fire going good drinks flowing and solid music playing. Good time had by all, YAU, ALWAYS GOING OFF!!! πŸ”₯πŸ€™βœŒ

Super fun with wife and kids. Will be coming back if it snows again. Unfortunately for us here in Cali those days are far few and in between

It's closed but you can find parking outside the gate and walk in. Most people were just about 30 ft into the gate. It wasn't the best time but it was a good time. (Went last weekend)

You're required by law to carry chains any time you're in the mountains. Whether you'll need to put them on your car depends on weather. You can check road conditions by calling 1800-427-ROAD.

Im headed up there monday is there snow and if so where do i get a parkin pass if needed and do i need tire chains for my car?

Balsam snow park is closed this winter, you'll have to head up to coyote, tamarack, or the snow park at Huntington lake. Passes can be purchased at the Forest Service office in Prather, Cressman's gas station (get a homemade cookie while you're there!), multiple businesses in Shaver, or at China Peak You're always required to carry chains in the winter, whether you need to use them depends on snow conditions. Call 1-800-427-ROAD for current chain requirements on hwy 168

Lots of snow. We were there last weekend and it was great. It snowed all last week, so it should be amazing. We were at shaver and the snow park just passed shaver.

Is it open today?

Monica Andrade | May 5, 2019
Kelly Reckas | May 6, 2019

The recreation area is always open. You need a $5 parking pass that can be purchased at Cressman's gas station on your way up

Do we need to take our own snow disks is there enough snow to play in the snow

There isnt much snow now. It's just a recreation area, there are no sleds provided. Please remember to leave no trace - take any trash you have home with you or dispose of it properly

Is there snow enough to play on ?
