My family with a truck filled with little children took a wrong turn into this camp. They were simply trying to ask for directions and were met with extreme hostility and very verbally aggressive people who yelled nonstop profanity at them. Absolutely disgusting behavior. And to think that they are meant to stand for teaching our youth about values and leadership. GOD HELP US.... How about teaching humility and kindness? Shame Shame Shame

First bsa summer camp I have been to. Very dusty and hot. Merit badge classes are in less detail compared to doing it by yourself and having to fill out the worksheet, because it’s all verbal in camp classes. Counselors are ok.

Nice Boy Scouts camping place. With many Merit Badges to work in. Some examples are shotgun shooting, climbing, archery, and life saving. Though there are many more. It may seem like a dream but it isn’t because of these following reasons. The tents cabins are a little dirty and small and have bugs. The showers have dead cockroaches but that’s not that bad. Wear shoes in the showers. The food is ok. But it’s actually pretty fun and it’s cool. The staff are all very nice and the campsites are beautiful.

Great camp with warm-water showers. I really needn’t say more. As a word of advice, there’s dust and there’s sun, but if you drink a lot of water and frequent the treats at the Trading Post you’ll be just fine. Get It’s-Its if they have em.

Yes, this is an excellent camp. It's been going through some growing pains since 2016, when Council management replaced the longtime, super-Director of camp operations with a fellow who had managed the snack shop... But will come around and remain excellent.
We do have cabins for renting but unfortunately we only rent out to scout units.
Its not too bad actually, so far we haven't changed anything.
There is a camp next door called family camp you can stay at
Camp chawanakee has both scout camp and family camp, to rent a high quality Elkhorn cabin is 125$ per night and they hold 7 people
