I adopted what I hoped would be a new forever pal from this center and I went into the process with the expectation that things would work out. Unfortunately, things went south, and I was bitten by the animal I got from here. That is not the shelters' fault. What bothered me about this center is how the dog's previous bite was downplayed when I went to visit him. In Virigina, a shelter is required to notify you if an animal has a history of biting. I was provided with this disclosure, but I was advised it as "puppy nipping". When reported my incident with the dog to the shelter the woman/girl who answered the phone was nonchalant about what happened with me. I get it, they are volunteers, they really don't care. What bothered me about this, is apparently the people who answer the phones don't pass on reports to whomever does follow-up calls to pet parents. I had to re-explain the story to that person. All in all, I get animal shelters are in a bit of crunch because so many pets come in and they want to get rid of them, but I it seems to me like this place cut corners all to get clear the shelter. I don't want to dissuade anyone from getting a pet here but ask questions and if they tell you an animal has a history of biting, be mindful in how they characterize the event.

I really enjoying your amazing Virginia Beach animal care to finding all kinds of animals to adopt ❤️ for a home and careing with alots of love ❤️ and when i came to your Virginia Beach animal care I was very happy to seeing all kinds of amazing animals I want to adopt so when I going in the back were all kinds of dogs and size for adopt so. I takeing my time if see what kind of the dog I wanted it so I finding really amazing and good size dog he a boy he really nice and medium size dog in a white Fairey dog with a great dog 🐕 and when thy called me and meet the dog at the adoption center and getting to no the dog to making sure the dog likes you and checking you out to making sure you ok and taking a great care of your amazing new pet dog and bringing your new pet dog to your new home and getting to no the smell and getting used the house and checking things out and other and that I really happy about getting my dog tommrrow at Virginia Beach animal care for a appointment at around 1:00pm to meeting and greeting 🙏 my new adopt pet

Really great place where I got my wonderful dog. She wasn't there 24 hours before someone called us about a mixed breed, Gutter dog from Newtown rd. She's the sweetest gutterdog In the world. Love her ❤️

Absolutely worst experience with this facility! I called on a wed and asked to make an apt for a dog in the shelter, was told they didn't have access to the appt tab and it wasn't necessary to come in and see an animal..So we drove over 2 hours only to get there and be told we needed an apt. So we asked about another dog and were told that if she wasn't taken by 1pm we could come in and see her only to then at one for told that now there was two other apts and we would need to wait till 3...It's terrible staffing like this that drives people to go to breeders and petsmart instead. Do better

Go there and describe him...if he isnt fixed they will charge you to get him fixed before they release him to you
I work rescue. The staff here is absolutely wonderful, and really care about the animals that come here. They use various methods to help the find these babies homes.

You can call and see about an appointment but I just went over there and they were letting so many in at a time at that time because of covid but now it should be better
Call Virginia Beach Animal Shelter and they can point you in the right direction or set up traps to get it or them
They have them there for adoption you have to go and see them to choose male or female and you know they will fix them and they have to be fixed for free they have all of their shots so far and they send you home with their bed a leash and some dog food
I am not sure but you can always visit their website or call and ask if they do 🤗
Clearly they do not have the resources to mount a Dog Walk line of volunteers, like a hundred people wide, and march through the area to "herd" her into a pen or something. It is just very sad. Amazing she is still alive!
We came to the area to take care of my mom thinking we could find a home unfortunately we cant and need to move into apartment and desperately need help rehoming a wonder 8-9 year old sweet dottie and a 9 month old blue

I don't believe they do shots unless it's a kitten from them. If you need somewhere to go you can go to Acredale Animal hospital they are reasonable priced. Or you can go to pet supply right across from Acredale
We found our dog using petfinder.com and he happened to be at this rescue. You can set the filter based on what you're looking for and change the radius so you're not driving very far. It makes it a little bit easier. The people at the shelter should also be able to help you. They seemed to have a very hands on approach with the dogs and even have some around the office from time to time. :)

You can bring the pet there. Now my dog had a chip and then once we adopted him. His chip info was transferred to us
Regardless of the dog size if the dog has already been fixed its 37.00 if not fix its 137.00 and the procedure is done on site and they get chipped when they are fixed
It all depends how long they have the dog and it's weight
New dogs come in everyday so check regularly those breeds usually get adopted very quickly but you may just walk in one day and find your forever friend
