Looking to acquire or sell coins? Stop what you’re doing and give Nashville Coin Gallery a call! Pete or another wonderful member of the team will patiently and thoughtfully discuss your goals and what you’d like to accomplish, and then you’ll work together to setup an appointment to talk in more detail. Pete and his team are so client-focused and service-minded that I will always seek their guidance as my sole source of information related to coins and currency. Certainly you could do many, if not all, of these pursuits online, but there’s absolutely no way that it will compare with what you’ll experience in person with Pete and the team. There aren’t many places where the conversation can seamlessly shift from coins to jewelry to music to history of the city. Nashville Coin Gallery offers expertise, guidance, honesty, and an all-around informative and inviting experience. I plan to continue partnering with this group in the future and will not hesitate to recommend them. I have no doubt my next interactions with Pete and his team will continue to be 5 star experiences. Call now; you won’t regret it!

Questions & Answers

Do you buy coins?

nashaat rezk | Oct 9, 2020
Pete Dodge | Oct 9, 2020

Yes, we buy coins every day, but we work by appointment only, so please schedule time with us before coming in. We'll want to know what you have, so we can make sure that your items are worth enough money to justify your making the trip to our offices, and also to make sure you have the kinds of coins, and enough of them, for us to schedule an appointment for. As an example, if you have one silver dime worth about $1.10, we're not going to schedule an appointment for that, even though it's the kind of coin we would buy as part of a larger deal. If you have 1,000 silver dimes, we'd gladly schedule an appointment for you. In other words, we always want to schedule appointments to buy coins as long as doing so makes sense for both parties.

When we purchase from you, there's no tax. When you purchase from us, yes, there's sales tax charged in accordance with Tennessee state law.

I was maybe interested in buying a few gold eagles, random dates. Do you charge a set price over spot?

Ronnie Pigg | Oct 9, 2020
Nashville Coin Gallery | Oct 9, 2020

Unfortunately, we can't publicly post premiums like that, because premiums (above or below the gold price) can fluctuate independently of the gold price. However, you're welcome to call any time and we'll be happy to let you know what the premium is at that time. Thanks -- we look forward to working with you!

I have some 2007 uk Beatles stamps in mint condition. Are these something you buy?

Travis Yost | Oct 9, 2020
Pete Dodge | Oct 9, 2020

We don't deal in stamps, sorry -- with a few occasional exceptions, we only buy money (coins and paper money) and precious metals (gold, silver, platinum and palladium) in the form of coins, bars, jewelry, flatware, etc. Once in a while, if something really nifty (in our opinion!) is offered to us, we'll buy it, but those are the exceptions and not the rule. 😎

I have 74 American Gold Eagles. Do you buy eagles and at what price?

Donald Meyers | Oct 9, 2020
Nashville Coin Gallery | Oct 9, 2020

Hello Donald, thanks for your question. We can't answer this question publicly, because premiums can change on a daily basis, independently of the gold price fluctuations. I can say publicly that we pay extremely competitively, and we can work on a very low margin for that quantity of coins. Please call us at (615) 764-0331 to discuss our current pricing and schedule an appointment -- we'd love to work with you! Pete Dodge, Owner Nashville Coin Gallery, LLC www.nashvillecoingallery.com

We have 1944 wheat Penny no mint and with mint. This are the collection of my husband? As I research the value of 1944 wheat penny is worth of $77,000.00 and with Mint are worth of $110,000.00.Is it true?

Ruth Poppe | Oct 9, 2020
Nashville Coin Gallery | Oct 9, 2020

No, sorry... 1944 wheat pennies, with or without a mint mark, or only worth a couple / few cents each with average wear and tear. There is, however, an extremely rare variety of 1944 penny -- made out of steel in error, and there are only a handful of those known to exist. The 1943 steel pennies are a dime a dozen, but a 1944 steel penny is worth a fortune!! The 1943 pennies were made out of steel because of World War II -- copper is used in the manufacture of bullet shells, and since we needed the copper diverted to the bullet factories for that reason, the government decided to make pennies out of steel that year since steel wasn't critical to the war like copper was. However, when they switched back to copper in 1944, a few steel blanks left in the belly of the machine were the first pennies to struck with the 1944 date. 1944 STEEL pennies are worth a fortune! I hope that helps!

Take it to him, he will surely school you on these things, also please dont try to clean it, leave it as it is, you take away value from it by cleaning it. I learn that from him, an awesome guy he is. 👍

I have dozens of old coins from the early 1900's and late 1800's. Are these worth more in the silver or collectors?

Kandi lefkowitz | Oct 10, 2019
Nashville Coin Gallery | Oct 10, 2019

Hello Kandi, and thanks for your question! It honestly depends on specifically what you have, and the condition the coins are in. Age alone doesn't make something rare or valuable -- if that were true, rocks, trees and dirt would be worth a fortune! The reality is that just about everything is common, even if it's old. However, that being said, there are oftentimes a few rare dates for any given type of older coin. For example, for silver dollars, 1893 and 1895 are rare dates. For dimes, 1921 is a scarce date. For pennies, 1922 is a better than average date, and for nickels, 1885 and 1886 are rare dates. There are plenty of other good dates too, so there's really not an easy answer to your question. Feel free to call me at (615) 764-0331 (office) or (615) 832-9904 and we can schedule time for you to bring them in for an in-person inspection and evaluation. Thanks again for your question! We'd love to work with you. Pete Dodge, owner Nashville Coin Gallery, LLC

Do you charge to value coins? I have about 15 older silver dollars. Thanks

Mike Ferguson | Oct 10, 2019
Nashville Coin Gallery | Oct 10, 2019

Hello Mike, and thanks for your question. We stay very busy and our time is valuable, but we also try to be as helpful as possible to our customers. If you just want to know what they're worth but you don't want to sell them, we wouldn't charge anything if you just want a quick verbal appraisal that we can do in about 10 or 15 minutes. If it takes much longer than that, or if you need something written, we'd have to charge an appraisal fee if we're not buying the coins. Thanks again for your question -- we'd love to have the opportunity to earn your business! Pete Dodge, Owner, Nashville Coin Gallery

Do yall buy bank notes?

H C | Oct 10, 2018
Nashville Coin Gallery | Oct 10, 2018

Hello, and thanks for your question. The answer is a very definite YES! The easiest way to think of what we buy is to simply remember "money and precious metals". If it's a form of money (coins or paper money), or a precious metal like gold, silver, platinum or palladium, there's a very good chance we'll buy it. Thanks again, and we'd love to work with you and earn your business! Nashville Coin Gallery
