Soooo sad.. I'm knocking on the door it 4:45pm the door is lock.. there people out in parking yelling saying they closed at 4:30😬 why???? People like me rush to get off work so I can get there before closing ,and to found out they closed... not just that , the man looking out the window, looking at us..he say they closed early everyday due to they have to count drawer😐 you gotta be kidding me..... they should be ashamed of themselves.

Terrible experience here. The older balding supervisor that works here doesn’t seem to be fair with people. Has an usual amount of rudeness that I seen with people waiting before me and including myself. Arbitrary and capricious exercises of authority that is inconsistent with the mission of the NCDMV. I would recommend going to a different NC DMV location.

If you can give ZERO stars i would, but one will do. the older man supervisor failed me on my driving test for no good reason, someone pulled out in front of ME, he even said i was a good driver and i was failed he told me to stop in the middle of the road and all. just NEVER go here if you like your time, sanity, and money. This man threw the documents a year ago to me when i was grabbing my learners permit. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DMV!!

I had a appointment scheduled and was able to walk out with my license renewed just under 30 minutes. There are very few officers managing everything but including road tests. I suggest to go with an appointment scheduled otherwise you will have to wait for hours.

No, i went just the other day, walked right in, no appointment.and no line!! Im sure everyday is different,but the 2 times ive been to this one, i was in and out. Charlotte on the other hand 🤦
Yes, they are having you take a driving test to get your license. I will ask my friend that I took to get his license what was required for driving test if you want.

Walk in our appointment. Appointments are better. Have your documents: insurance, birth certificate, social security card, 2 proofs of address. Get scheduled for written exam, could be on computer. Be prepared for eye exam and a picture to be taken.

There are a TOTAL of 37 questions. 12 on road signs, you can miss 3. Then, 25 road rules questions and you can miss 5. I believe if you pass one, but fail the other, when you go back you're only required to take the failed test again.

I would recommend going to the courthouses first to make sure all fines have been paid..Then go to the driver license office

Yes you still have to drive with an officer at the DMV when you get your license for the very first time. Your permit and driver's log is just to show that you have had practice under an adult supervision. Everyone has to go through the driving test when they first get their license. Good Luck!

You unfortunately have to schedule online, I found out the hard way last week driving to 3 different locations. The soonest and closest I could get an appt is 8/21 near Lenoir unfortunately. Go online to the NCDMV website and it'll guide you through the steps to schedule one.
