A fun State Park with lots of trails to hike or bike, plus many other activities including a large splash pad. We could easily spend days here enjoying everything there is too offer. One thing to note is that the trails are not well marked which can make it hard to figure out where you are. Cell phone coverage can also be spotty in some areas. The Alltrails app was a big help in some trickier areas with lots of intersecting paths.

Didn't get to stay for long, but the place was beautiful. The tepee was alright, but you'll have a bit of a ways walk to get to yours, unless you've got the closest one. If you can make it to the river, and the trail was a bit rugged and overgrown until it completely disappeared on me, you get a great view.

We had a family reunion at the Red Barn at Platte River State Park. 45 of us had a great time all weekend. We love the shooting range and horseback riding. Very clean and well kept park. I highly recommend this park to those folks looking to get out and enjoy nature.

Our first trip to Platte River State Park was great! We hiked to the falls and then around the woods for about two hours! The trails were still a bit icy but it was quiet and peaceful and just what I needed! The falls were frozen but still beautiful! Looks like a fun place to be in the summer too.

$18 in 2018 for a one hour ride. It may be a bit more, now.
[Best Answer] There was flooding on the north side along the river and that area remains closed. The other answers are vague or just incorrect.
Louisville Lakes state recreation has a great swimming lake for the price of a daily/yearly parks pass!
When you get to the park head toward the campground area. The parking area for the trail will be on your right.
We get internet for the cabin we stay in and it works throughout the park. Just ask at the office.
I do not believe so
There are a lot of steep hill on paths but there just as much flat land areas too.
There are other parks that have open beaches, as well as local lakes.
Yes. A day pass can be purchased at the gate for $6.00.
No, some of the state parks allow it, but Platte River doesn't.
There are several areas that would be suitable The day park in the riverside area would make a gorgeous scene
They do, that was why we were there. It was a small intimate location in the woods. Very nice but the event space after did not have any ac. The staff were very helpful
When you go in turn right. The office just few feet . Follow that road you go past cafe the club house where horses are
My family rented it every summer for years. Its amazing!! It's down by the horses, sleeps about 15 people, full kitchen (stocked) and locker style bathrooms.
Yes there is 1 primative campground and 1 electric w pad on the Platte River as well as day use. The river campsites are closed due to flooding but carrying a load from the river to the trout lake parking lot isn't a bad portage. Platte River State Park is way downstream of Two Rivers.
You are asking about dispersed camping which is legal in state and national parks. However I would still call the park office before doing so.
