It's a really nice park. Lots of great trails, close to the beach, well shaded most of the time, well maintained, the bathrooms always looked nice, the rangers and other staff were all friendly. Would happily stay there again! I guess some people didn't realize it's close to the road. The park is directly off of hwy101. There will be traffic noise, there will be loud diesel trucks, there will be wind. Please do not be surprised or disappointed by this thinking it wouldn't be there for some reason. They do have a bit of a stellar jay problem but they have a lot of other cute wildlife we did enjoy. I would recommend this park to any outdoorsy type people. Those with children, their junior ranger program is lacking to nonexistent compared to other state parks we have visited but talking to the rangers there, they do plan on expanding and revamping the program services they provide there so it may be better when you go. It was still a very nice park and would happily stay there again!

I wanted to camp last minute over the Fourth of July weekend and Humbug had a site. I drove down from Portland and spent two nights there. The camp was clean and well maintained. I stayed in a tent site without electric. It was inexpensive. It was a bit close to neighbors without too much brush in between but everyone was respectful. The bathrooms and showers were clean and well maintained. The showers were hot, which was good! The volunteers were friendly and helpful. I took a couple small trails (Amphitheater) and Fern and they were worthwhile. Fern had a few rough spots but the views were great! I didn’t want to climb Humbug Mountain so I’m glad I had other opportunities. The walk to the beach was not too far and the beach itself was very cozy, since really only visitors to the campground were there. I saw seals in the late afternoon and evening. During the day it was super relaxing just to hang out there. Very soft sand (which made walking a bit effortful) but made lounging very comfortable. Oregon has many nice state parks and this is certainly one of them!

Best kept campground in Oregon. The volunteers were totally on top of the place. Clean restroom and shower. Even raked each campsite when people checked out. Great walk to beach. Gorgeous place. Heavy mist and fog gave it eerie feel one day.

This was a great campground. Most of the sites are spacious (some are too small) the near private beach was fun. The stream going through the camp was fun to play in. The showers were hot and clean. The trails were great. Go a few miles up or down the 101 to find local attractions

I suggest you you Google humbug state park. Look at the campground map. It will show you the extra parking and also explain the fees.

Very spotty cell service, comes and goes. Best place to turn off the devices and let the beauty of the surroundings take over.

Everybody lets their dogs run free on the beach here, just so long as it's a friendly dog you shouldn't have any problems aside from an occasional irritated person.
