Waiting Times are simply unacceptable, a person that comes to an ER is because his/her life is at risk, to have you waiting 4 to 5 hours, suffering and under pain should not be something that anyone should go thru.

My ER nurse told me to make a formal complaint against this medical ‘professional’ her name is Dulkas or Darkus or something similar and I believe she was the ER Resident she was responsible for leaving me in debilitating pain for hours while she ignored her job, she never followed up to request the nuero and pain management consults the ER Doctor ordered. When the nurses called her to say my pain had increased, she ordered tylenol. She was clearly annoyed when we asked to see her. I asked why she ordered me tylenol, her response was that is what we order for headaches. I explained I was not there for a headache, that my Doctor sent me there for pain management for a neurological issue I realized as she just blankly started at me writing in pain she had never even looked at my chart never mind ordered the consults. I asked her directly have you looked at my chart at all because I can’t imagine that you would have ordered me Tylenol if you had.The Doctor ordered Morphine, Dilaudid and Torodal which was not even touching the nerve pain and she orders Tylenol. Her reply was, I could walk out of this room and give you nothing for pain if you question me again. I told her to leave my room, and get the Doctor, only then did she order me pain reliever and the nuero and pain management consult which the Doctor sent her six hours prior! She refused to answer the nurses pleas for hours, my nurse was begging for her to come see me I heard her state I cannot stand to see this person in so much pain any longer..I spent the next two weeks admitted for severe pain due to a neurological disorder. This medical ‘professional’ never examined me, never ordered the nuero and pain management consult which the Doctor ordered six hours earlier and left me there in pain for a total of 17 hours!! When nuero and pain magnet arrived they both stated they had only been called a 1/2 hr prior. So due to her negligence I was left in pain for 17 hours and then she threatened me because I questioned why she wasn’t doing her job. She is not only a despicable excuse for human being but a disgrace as a medical professional. I know the head nurse received a complaint about her as well and I am not the only patient she has treated this way. As long as she is employed at this hospital I will never return and will ensure everyone I know stays clear of this ER as well. One day I hope she experiences similar treatment it will be much deserved.

I cut my finger on a cracked porcelain toilet. I was bleeding a lot and went to an Urgent Care. They did nothing, so I went to the ER at JFK. I was lucky enough to be taken care of by Benjamin Shaw P.A. He cleaned the wound well, sutured the hanging skin flap and put me on antibiotics. Concerned about infection, he had me come in 2 days later on the weekend, for a laceration check, and follow up with a Plastic Surgeon. A month later, I’m still sore, but it’s healing nicely. Ben Shaw did everything right. I still have the use of my finger and never experienced infection.
