place was amazing, the people there adore those animals and they make sure you know about them, it is a small place but worth the visit, It is like a small zoo, it has a little bit of everything, take pictures, because those bring memories...capture the love!

I understand these places need sources to continue their operations but this token, add-on systems makes me feel like being squezed, touching animals token, feeding animals token... other than that place is fun, kids able to touch and play with animals, animals looked well taken care of...
Hi there. They have different kind of fish to see and also you can feed them not just the fish they have birds and other animals like sneak etc. This place is good for kids .

We do have a Giant Pacific Octopus, they're really good at hiding! The octopus enclosure is almost halfway through the aquarium. You can have the opportunity to shake hands with our octo, or pay to feed him if he's out and about.
Yes, they are &sometimes they get busy & cant always get to the phone & if it's close to 8p they tend not to worry about the phone, 🤷♀️idk why but. Also,Try to get there early so that you can enjoy the feedings and avoid the line to get in.
The sloths are off in a corner in the same section as the big tank of stingrays that you can pet and feed. There is a glass to look through (the room is dark and barely lit so that the sloths can sleep I guess?) and door and there's not always an attendant standing there and it can be hard to notice the sloth cage at first. Sloths spend a lot of time sleeping I think, so I'm not sure that they allow people to go in there all day long, it could be like only at certain times that you can pet them. It is also one of the more expensive petting experiences
Yes, the website says it is supposed to be. You are asked to bring some card or proof.
Do I need to reserve for foster family night for Nov. 20th?

I would suggest calling them if you have a large group or an event. They have special rooms for these types of things and would probably give you a discount on the price.
if your pet is a service dog the answer would be yes! However, service animals are not allowed in the exhibits.

Does it have an overhead area?

Its all indoors, the outside area no longer exists
We went on a weekend and if I remember correctly adults were about 16 and children were almost 10. Then you can pay for additional activities and tokens which can be used to buy food for the animals and fish and sting Ray's. It's well worth it!! Your family will have a great time!!
Maybe 8 months ago that was your view, but we went today and had a great time! Lots of animals to pet and feed! It has expanded in the last year and adding new features and animals every day. I’ve been to many zoos and aquariums in my life and I like the atmosphere at SAA. You can tell the staff loves all the animals and all have great knowledge of the creatures they care for. Stellar aquarium! Give it a try, if you love animals you wont be disappointed I promice!
Oh yes lots of summer programs!!! Day camps, over night weekend camps, 1-2 week camps and some for even longer...all different price ranges as some are more inclusive then others!
Ok so i haven't really gotten anything from the manager yet, but I have asked different staff about getting the sloth included in birthday parties, & they all have different answers. Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks

I don't know for sure but I would guess that would not be an option. I'm pretty sure it is $25 to have the sloth experience and that is for only one person. I kinda doubt they will allow several kids in that little bitty room. But hey if they do, that's going to be an awesome party!!
How much is it for a 2 year old and one year old, and 2 adults ?
Would this be a good place to throw a party for a 1 year old ?

For a 2 year old on a week day its 8.95 plus tax on weekends 10.95 plus tax. Under 2 gets in for free. For one adult its 13.95 on weekdays and weekends its 15.95. If you are college or military or senior you get 2 dollars off admission with photo ID for each person. Also in my honest opinion of working here at the sa aquarium I believe it's the best place to throw a birthday party especially if you include the iguana bounce house for the kids. You get to touch and feed animals like stingrays sharks fish birds and iguanas. We have our lemurs in aka our ringtailed lemurs and our sloths for encounters an awesome experience btw and we have a party coordinator to guide you through it for any other questions if you are interested I work tomorrow we open at 10 am and close 7 PM my name is Cristian Gonzales and I would be glad to assist you.
If i buy some tokens for the sloth could i take more than one person with me in the cage?
I recall that children under 5 are free and older kids 15.95 and adults are 17.00

They are open. $11 for a child and $16 for an adult. They offer a military discount as well as a senior discount plus they are having a sale on season tickets today.
She is in the sting ray room. I just called the aquarium. They said you can see her through the glass door. There is a glass door that looks like it leads to a dark pink area. That's were the sloth is. It costs 20 tokens (around $60) to go into her habitat and feed her. Thanks everyone for the info.
Well there is Sea World, the San Antonio aquarium, and the San Antonio Zoo that has some nice tanks with all kinds of sea life. so I guess to answer your question.. 1 dedicated aquarium, then a zoo and aquarium combo... And a theme park. Zoo would be my choice though.
