If you are looking for real shelter help you won't find it here. Don't waste your time trying. A troll (black female with dread locks) comes out the door and runs people away daily waving some funky list. Very nasty additude. After speaking with a few residents there. You are to be on a waiting list for three or more months. They will run you away. The help line will give you false hope sending you there in the first place. There is No Homeless Shelters. Only cold shelters
Mr Sharp
Will ad more later but tyvm for helping me and so many more!
James Druckemiller
They told me they could not help me and mind you i am in wheelchair they treat you very bad

The most wonderful place of help if you ever find yourself in a bad way head to one80!

Many of them are uneducated about ethics and the law. Great description-shady yes but there's always room for improvement where these things exist.
U can't live there and also work there. Also if u do live there for any amount of time u have to be independent for a minimum of 1 year and then apply when there is an opportunity
Everyone is saying dont go here, are there any other suggested places????
n
maybe it is the administrator for their website. I have no idea who the owner is. I thought it was multiple Charities.
Hello Lynn! One80 Place does not accept furniture, but you can contact Homeless to Hope. They provide furniture to people who stayed at the shelter and have now been housed. If you would like to make a donation to One80 Place there is a "wish list" of urgently needed items on the website www.one80place.org Thank you for inquiring!
They take any donations both money and items. But it is very hard for anyone staying there to get any clothing or help in any way whatsoever. I stayed there twice. They love incoming donations but its like pulling teeth trying to get the help you need to get housed. They get so much in financial donations but nothing at one80 place changes for the better. Food is constantly being donated and then being brought straight out the back door to the employees cars. They dont serve and make any good food here to serve. All the good food that we see being donated is never served unless the people that donated it are there serving the food. So take your chance if you want to. One80 Place and its staff need to be investigated in everything they do especially with the financial donations that they receive.
I would definitely call them. I bet they would be put to good use.
Hello, Michael. Yes, the items in our donation center are reserved for clients. As for the Community Kitchen lunch, it is from 12 PM to 1 PM, 7 days a week. Due to Hurricane Dorian, lunch service has been paused and will resume tomorrow.
One80 Place, in order to keep getting funding, has to have a minimum amount of people there so, whether or not they are helping people, at least they are giving the impression that they are. Cuz they don't want to lose their funding cuz then they would lose their paychecks. If they kicked everyone out who drank or did drugs then they would have just about nobody to be "helping". Plus One80 Place staff does try to help it's members by letting them learn from their decisions in the hopes that some, if not all, of its members will learn from their past and grow. If you have never had to stay at One80 Place then don't be judging because of what you see or hear or think you know. Because One80 Place isnt called One80 Place for nothing. For some it is the only place that many people can call a home and a safe, warm, and dry place to sleep at night. I should know because I have had to live there twice because I had nowhere else to go. No support from anyone except One80 Place and the VA.
Yes it is. One of the nicer ones in Charleston and its free. Some of the shelters here charge money, go figure. They do have a curfew as well
They do have a family dormitory
They have a separate shelter for both
In response to your definition of a Homeless shelter explanation. A "Homeless" is supposed to allow people to enter nightly. This so called Homeless Shelter you talking about RUN PEOPLE AWAY after they were told lies by some of the people you are connected to. Leaving them to fin for themselves on the street while beds are occupied by RESIDENCE are holding beds monthly. Held inside like prisoners in a camp. If they miss 1 night getting in in time they are threatened to be kicked out. It's a money skeem milking people out of their money that live there. Stop making the public fund something that you claim as a homeless shelter and give them their money back. Learn what a homeless Shelter is a start all over Mr because your facility suck big time.
Contact them on the homeless awareness phone line. You need to answer questions and be honest. They run a very nice fair and tight ship over there. They have to so that they are as stream line and consistent across the board. They will not tolerate drugs and or alcohol or abusive behavior of any kind. If you follow their template used to help many people including myself you will be fine. If you don’t listen and work with them to help you thrive you will not succeed!

They only take cash. Unless it's new clothes
Hello, Name B, you do not. Please go to our community’s entry system, Lowcountry CoC, to fill out a survey if you need help. https://lowcountrycoc.org/get-help

The Lowcountry Continuum of Care will be posting warming center/shelter locations. You can keep updated by going to their website (https://lowcountrycoc.org/) or their facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/LowcountryCoC).The local news will also provide this informtaion.
Google the one 80 place and o. The website it will give you a webpage to go to fill out a form and question s once you complete your name will be on the waiting list and everyday at lunch you can go thier for lunch and check in on waiti g list or they will give you a number to call to check
We wish we had more parking. So sorry! However, we also have to make sure that we can consistently provide shelter, case managers, a clinic, a kitchen, cleaning staff, and support staff, so that means prioritizing staff parking. Sorry again. If we can find more parking, we’ll make sure to consider your suggestion. Thank you.
We’re so sorry to hear. If we see anyone littering in the neighborhood, we will ask them to throw in the trash/recycling.
Hello, Shameeka, the waiting time varies drastically. It could be anywhere from one day to one month. We encourage you to call the housing crisis line, 843-737-8357, or go online, https://lowcountrycoc.org/get-help, to get on the list right away.
Holly good place to get it together. Nothing in life is easy, but work follow the rules and save. 3 months they will get u everything u need.
This is clean, safe place to stay. One80 place has many resources to help get people back on track.
its Slim. Its hard as hell to get in there. Easy to get on the list but hard to get in. It can be worth the wait depending on what you do with yourself once you get in.
Great place.... They help you alot!😁
Please call the housing crisis line: 843-737-8357or go online: https://lowcountrycoc.org/get-help/
No limit, you can stay after you find job to save some money. Once you save some cash they will help you find housing
They should be able to help u. But u need to make a inperson visit to check and see if they have bed space in the family cemter
They are almost always full, but you can get on a wait list and they can check other places that might be available. Call them first. Good luck.
Go in early to check availability. It is clean, 3 meals a day. They have job training on site if you are willing to work in restaurants. Also have free medical on site. The staff is very knowledgeable. Also free legal services. Good luck to you. Hope all goes well. If absolutely necessary call police they will inform your husband that he can NOT put you out. He must go to court to evict you. But leave as soon as you can.
All i can say is stay as far away as possible. Place is horrendous!
If you're one of the lucky. Section 8 is open again. Try that first. Im not a big fan of One80. Full disclosure. They want half of my disability and then kick u out in the heat, rain snow, during the day they only care about $$ in their pocket. So I choose my van NOT THEIR POCKET!
Take him to One80 Place. He should be able too get some food and hopefully a bed.
We have a legal team but don't know if they handle that type of situation. What I suggest is you give them a call and explain your situation. If they can't help they may be able to point you in the right direction
Spouses are normally in separate locations but on the same property.
