One80 Place is a homeless shelter, just not the textbook definition or the definition you would find if you were to Google "homeless shelter". However they do assist in finding and usually manage to find and place people staying at One80 Place in housing. Additionally One80 Place does not discriminate. Quite the opposite. In order for someone to get into One80 Place they need to either call One80 Place or show up in person to get their name put on a list of people waiting for an available bed. The textbook definition of a homeless shelter like the type of shelters that you mention provide temporary shelter and food, whereas One80 Place provides a more permanent shelter for usually 3 months or so until housing is obtained as well as 3 meals a day. Just because One80 Place does not match your definition and does not meet the textbook definition of a "homeless shelter" does not mean that it is not a homeless shelter.
