As a Michigander - Born and raised - and almost 40... I just made my first trip to Mackinac Island. I took Sheplers ferry. They had amazing day trip parking available with lots of parking. They also have a pick up bus every 5 minutes. The boat ride to the Island was amazing. Breathtaking views. If you catch the ferry before 10:30am, you get to take the Mackinac bridge view tour ( as seen in pictures below). The deck crew gave wonderful facts and a Mackinac Island book. All came in handy with the trip! My next trip will definitely be with this wonderful family ran company

Cool experience that I would recommend to anyone. My family and I took the morning ferry that goes under the Mackinac Bridge and it was totally worth it. Great service beyond as well, they sent a shuttle for pick up and drop off and the staff was very friendly and informative. Highly recommend their service to the island.

Great service, the ferry comes every 30 minutes which is convenient. The boats are well maintained and look nice. Sit on the upper deck and enjoy the ride.

I like everything about shepler's ferry especially that they have free bathrooms as soon as you get off (star line doesn't have any restrooms 🙄🤷🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️) My only gripe so far I paid for a 3 day pass both for ferry & bikes.... When I got off the first day the guy ripped off my bike tags. I said I need that I paid for 3 days he just gave me the tag back but it says on tag (void if ripped off). Next day I went to get another tag & the lady said there is no multiple day bike pass & made me pay again! 😡🤬 It's best to lock your bikes on the island & this way you won't have to pay so much money or hassle with loading & unloading; most of all save $16 per bike each day.

It is every 30 mins i was,there on saturday And Holds 235 Passangers I Also Asked Them How many people the ferry holds but its hard to get a seat up pn top or by window if u are way in back of line lots of fun either way and its 16 min ride

I dont think so but will handle your luggage if your staying on the island! Took our bike and they stored them till we got to the island. However, i did see lockers to rent as you get off the ferry!
There is a ferry out of Charlevoix that goes to Beaver Island.

definitely sit on the upper deck! it's on the left when heading to the island and the right when heading back to the mainland.
The ferry boats run every 30 minutes. It takes 20 minutes to get from Mackinaw City to Mackinaw Island island.
There are two types of parking. For $25 a day you can park in the lot where you catch the ferry. For $5 a day you can drive down the road and park in a lot and a shuttle will bring you back. I'm not sure about the valet. The $5 a night parking was perfect for us. You pull up right to the ferry and unload your luggage and bikes. They are tagged and put on the boat for you. You park your car get the shuttle back and get in line for the ferry. Pay for all parking inside the office.
I would call ahead to check all the rentals. Your best bet would be the Mac Island tourist center. I honestly don't recall seeing motorized scooters on the Island.
Call them, our buy online. Try to get the ferry that goes under the bridge... Get there early, so you can sit up top. SO COOL! :-)
15-20 minutes depending on the weather. But add an extra 5 minutes for the ferries that do a photo run under the bridge to Lake Michigan and back.

There is secured parking provided well with in walking distance. .still shuttle service is provided if you has overnight items to bring aboard. .
