This was the nastiest hotel I've ever been to and is definitely not up to Marriott's standards. My husband and I are loyal Marriott brand customers and have never seen such a disgusting hotel in their chain. The carpet was beyond filthy and so was the balcony. Both looked like they'd never been cleaned. I expect far better from this brand and will definitely be contacting their corporate office.

It was a Marriott so I was expecting much more. The room smells good and the bedding too. However, the air won’t go down from 77 so my kids were sweating in their sleep. The TV won’t turn on, it says no signal. The shower curtain would not do it’s work since the mechanism won’t connect, ripped already and time for a change. In other words I won’t come back here again.

Security could be better at this Marriott. My balcony door would not close and remained cracked open both nights. Room was clean, but very dated. Security lights on south side entrance were not operating and lights were out in the parking lot. Front desk very friendly during check in and the cleaning staff did good.

This hotel is in terrible condition. As a Marriott Rewards member for the past 20+ years, I always considered any Marriott property to be a nice, clean, comfortable and trusting hotel to spend the night. I am extremely upset about my recent "attempted" stay at the Courtyard by Marriott located at 5555 Carmichael Road in Montgomery Alabama. I cannot believe that this hotel is still categorized as a Marriott Hotel. I left in the middle of the night and drove over an hour away to stay at another hotel because all of the hotels in Montgomery were sold out. I drove all the way back to Birmingham at 11pm at night. I have NEVER felt the need to do have to take this type of action in my years of travel. This hotel was dirty, nasty, sketchy and WAY below all Marriott standards. Upon arrival, I found the lobby to be hosting a couple of loud and strange type gatherings. The front desk worker was busy in the breakfast area doing something and I had to wait about 15 minutes before he was free to come help me with my check in process. There was someone there who might have been management but he was dressed in jeans with a baseball cap, not at all Marriott-like. The lobby was littered in trash with napkins and cups laying around on the floor and tables piled up with trash. There was some type of tarp on the roof of the drive up area outside the building that did not appear to be remodeling but more of a cover up for damage done to the roof area. After I finally got checked in, I made my way to the parking lot closest to my room entrance. I noticed I was being following by a guy in a van who drove up behind me, parked directly behind me, watching me get my luggage out, which totally scared me. I got to my very hot, dark, smelly room. The smell was a room deodorizer that was WAY over used, left a film in my mouth. The bathroom was awful, stained up tub, sink and toilet. I left in disgust. This resembled a Motel 6 and needs immediate attention. I expect much better.
