This is a great place to go to get your pew pew therapy. As I was there yesterday, I learned that not very many people know that they not only have pistol and rifle ranges, but they also have an area set aside for shotgun and archery. It is a little off of the beaten path, but it is worth it, and sometimes it is the separation from every day hum drum that we need. Grab your gear and head down there and pay the range a visit. You won't regret it.

My experience at the range was a 10. The staff were outstanding, thoughtful and very helpful. This was my first time to the range but it won’t be my last. They were very willing to help and offered great advice. First class operation.

A safe and welcoming environment. The 100 yard seems to always be packed, but with your own target stand (an old political sign is just as good) will make the 200 yard range just as good. The staff are very polite, accommodating, and informative. Be sure to bring earplugs, eye protection, and a case to carry your rifle/pistol in.

This is an excellent range. I the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The premises are kept very clean. The following is a few things new people should be aware of (if this is your first time). * There is an archery range, shotgun section, pistol range, 100 meter and 50 meter rifle range. * This is a bring your own gear range so you need you bring ammo, targets and ear protection. * This place does offer target stands and some small pistol targets and a few rifle stands for sighting in scopes. * This is a public range so there is no fee * In order to place targets you need to have a seize fire so be courteous to the fellow people on your line don't. * The rifle ranges aren't set up for standing they are designed mostly for sighting in scopes. * The rules are clearly posted at the entrance read them. Even if you've been herea dozen times read them again. Be respectful to the range and your fellow shooters.

Most likely the weekend after the fourth isn't a government holiday. Edit: Also have fun and shoot off a couple rounds for America 🇺🇸
James O. Thomason Firing Range is a supervised range that is owned and operated by SCDNR in Spartanburg County. The range provides a 100 yard rifle range with 5 positions, a 200 yard rifle range with 10 positions, a 25 yard pistol range with 9 positions and two archery positions. Visitors under the age of 16 must be under the direct supervision of an adult. I would think if you are at least the age of 21 it may be ok..
It's a SCDNR range so free to the public. It has a 25, 100, & 200 yard range.
Rifle or shotgun- under 18 with a parent or 18 or older...yes. Handgun- under 16 ...no. 16-20 with someone 21 or older. 21or older ...yes.
There Is Ear Protection If You Ask,, You Take Eye Coverage And Targets
Nope
There are stands for holding them up but only a few. Most people bring their own homemade stand. No holes.
No. The range master is keen on tapping you on the shoulder if you're getting too trigger happy.
They do have some there. I'm not sure how many but you can ask the range officer and he will assist you
No. Must have your own.
Yes, the shotgun section is open and designed for that.
Yes. They will provide you with some Harry Hampton Memorial Foundation printed targets.
It is clearly posted on the rules of the range sign. No drawing of handguns from a holster
Highly doubtful. It is a DNR range so give the officer on duty a call tomorrow.
They have some but they may be in use. I always take my own. They also have some sleds, but best to take your own.
9am-5pm Tuesday- Saturday
Paper only
I do not recommend their archery range unless the targets have been updated recently. The gun ranges are great.
