Toilet had a red stain on it. Stayed 3 nights and the room was never cleaned and the beds were never made. They only replaced towels, washcloths, and soap. The floor above was very loud (thumping) until I developed a migraine. The hotel was extremely warm and muggy. Parking lot is too small. Interenet was poor. On the morning of checkout the elevator went out. Everyone had to take the stairway which was filthy to carry our heavy luggage. On a good note the staff was friendly especially GM Teresa who was extremely helpful and courteous. The hotel is located near many restaurants.

This was our first experience with Comfort Suites, and for the most part it did not disappoint. The ladies at the front desk were very helpful and nice and I really appreciated the fact that they had a rolling cart to take our luggage up to our room. The room was a decent size for the king bed we had plus sofa bed and the pillows were nice and soft plus there were extra sheets and blankets in our closet. The bathroom came with free toiletries and I enjoy the softness of the towels and the size of the washcloths. Staff was very accommodating when we needed extra towels and toiletries. The free hot breakfast was pretty decent, it included scrambled eggs, sausage links, muffins or donuts, toast, a waffle maker, oatmeal, grits, and orange juice. The location was great because we were very close to many restaurants and about five minutes away from Walmart. The bed was hard as a rock and very hard to sleep on. The curtains are set up in a way where they cannot be closed so we got an early rise at about 7 AM every morning even though we wanted to sleep in with the sun shining through. The showerhead needed to be fixed and I didn’t like the set up of the bathroom; you couldn’t close the door unless you came all the way in and stood in the middle near the toilet. I feel like they could’ve provided better toilet paper for the price we paid for the room . The room where the pool was had an odd smell and the pool itself could’ve been cleaner. The elevator also smelled horribly and needs to be updated because a few of the buttons are broken and it goes very slowly.

The hotel is clean and well maintained. The lady at the front desk was welcoming and kind (I was especially impressed by her demeanor when the teen in front of me in line started cursing about her room to the attendant. I could not have been this patient). My only complaint was the pool. It has an indoor heated pool that has a musty and heavily chlorinated smell that permeated through much of the first floor. My kids wanted to swim, but the smell was too strong. Besides this, it is an excellent hotel (easily earning 5 stars) and we enjoyed our stay.

Its a mediocre place to stay if you have no other alternative but I guess the saying goes you get what you pay for. The check in lady was fabulous. The room cleaning service definitely needs some improvement as it wasn't vacuumed and if it was they didn't move anything as we found chips on the floor throughout the room and food was still in the fridge from the previous guest. The noose level at night was ridiculous as we could barley sleep with doors slamming ALL night, to the laughing, cussing and yelling in the halls.

Kristopher Hall | Apr 27, 2018

The Riverboat leaves from River Street in front of River Street Sweets. It will take about 30 minutes to get to River Street, but you will need to leave extra time to find parking downtown, which could easily add another 30 minutes with walking.
