I soo hate to give them such a poor review. I loved them before renovation but my recent experience was not good. The bar is now located in a separate room from the stage. The bartender was one of the most inattentive and lazy I have ever experienced. I tended bar for a decade in clubs & fine dining so I have experience. They illegally charge a 4% surcharge on credit cards. I looked up the law in New York. The food was great but rather expensive. Of course the music is top notch but I'm afraid I may not return to my once favorite neighborhood venue after such a bad experience.

If you’ve never seen a drummer use a rubber corona bottle, three pigs, a crocodile and a chicken as percussions: Here you get the chance if you’re really lucky! This was an incredible evening. Fun and creativity, improvisation and all around top level jazz. Enchantingly relaxed performance by Lezlie Harrison. Thank you and everyone else who made this evening very special. We’ll be back for sure.

They might not technically be required, but I wouldn’t want to show up without one. The place is classic and tiny. Note that I haven’t been there post-pandemic.
