Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and they provide a student discount. The performers were incredible, and made me and my friends last night in New York very memorable. Would definitely go again

Thanks for the invite. Great music to end a Friday night. It was an eye-opening experience although, to be honest, my eyelids wanted to droop quite badly from the drinks. 😂 They were strong!

Great place to listen to Jazz. It is very cozy. It has no tables, only chairs. Although if you want space to support the drinks you can sit at the bar. It has a minimum of one drink per person in addition to the entrance. The price is good for the area. They accept people without prior reservation, if there is room. The bands are excellent. The wine is good.
No need, what I do recommend for you to do is get there 30 minutes early from the opening hour so you can grab good seats. Very small venue.
Google won't let me reply to your post, hopefully you will see this edit. If you're looking to save money stay in Brooklyn near the Brooklyn bridge. If you want more convenient/ease I would say look anywhere in midtown. I worked for the Warwick hotels for sometime and the rooms were pretty good and not to expensive. You also wont be far from Central Park and if you're a burger fan look up 'burger joint' in midtown.

...unfortunately I did not see an elevator or ramp for a wheelchair to come down, just a staircase to come down into the basement -venue ...but most likely people would be willing to try and lift someone up to bring the chair down ...it is a possiblity.
Smalls is quite literally a small capacity space. Are you limiting admission in the midst of Covid? I wanted to visit this weekend, but not quite comfortably with it being packed to the brim like it normally is (which pre-Covid, was beautiful).

It's not packed at all. They definitely have a limit capacity and I saw the people keeping their mask on, unless they were drinking. It was very comfortable

Preferred... Some shows sell out fast. It's a very small intimate place. You can try your luck at the door... Later shows after midnight are easier to get into
First show starts at 7:30. Doors open at 7:00. It is a small venue, so it is good to get 4here 15-30 minutes early and wait in line to get a decent seat.
Smalls does not take reservations. It is a first come first serve club. You have to get there early and stand in line, depending at what time the performance you want to see starts.
When we were there in December advance tickets weren't an option. We arrived 30 minutes in advance and there were about 20 people in line. Another 10 minutes later and I'm not sure if we would have gotten in. Also, cash only at the door.

You don't need to but you should as the line can build up in seconds so I would purchase a ticket ahead of time and be at the door exactly when told to! You want to be at the front of the line otherwise you'll end up with bad seats
Very cool atmosphere, they may check for age for alcohol, but I don't think there's a restriction to enjoying the fab music, try to hang on for the late night jam session
In May of next year we will go with my wife to that city and since we are fans of traditional jazz (that is, of the "new orleans style") we would like to know if there are concerts in that place, or have the courtesy to indicate others. Thank you.
