Today I spoke to Miss Lily she had no idea how to help me or direct me in the right direction at all she had no words of encouragement she had no enthusiasm to talk to me and it felt very cold, Very disappointed in this establishment and how they carry themselves very unprofessionally

Went to urb for a visit to the food bank , fortunately the lack of cheer radiating from the guy in the big chair did not deter me from my mission. It's a blessing, the way they help people, please don't get me wrong, but it's hard enough, setting your pride at the door and asking for help. They are a great help to others for Bill paying and emergencies. There's also a kitchen behind the building that serves lunch everyday(365) from 10:30 to 12:30.

It is a God sent place, although I haven't stayed there since the 1990's.

This is a great place to get food , and assistance with bills. If you need help they have services that can help you.

You may bring donations to Urban Ministry Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5.p.m.
Yes you can. Individuals, sometimes bring additional food, to those in need, at that, and other locations, (near the downtown area), especially during the holidays. Additionally, GUM provides meals for residents (3) and general public (2), 7 days a week, and, all year round ( I believe). Entirely up to you though, to supplement that.
I believe they accept any type of food as long as it's not expired.
You have to sign up and bring ID all socials of everyone in the home
Yes but seperate dormitories
The Greensboro Urban Ministry, the Weaver House, is currently under construction. The project should be completed by the end of October.

I have 2 girls and I need a place to stay. Who can help?
Urban Ministry has a staff of employees who will assist you getting a job, housing and even health problems. I know because I was there not long ago.
Call the Interactive Resource Center they will tell you who needs then most and/or if you would be better off going to them, it's a homeless day shelter
In my humble opinion... which I have been going to this agency for almost 20 years.. well 19 Exactly. It's up to you to make the decision to whether you want to improve the conditions of your life. So if you want to take steps to help yourself in any way, I really don't see why any staff member would stand in your way. That seems to be a ludicrous idea! If this person had a concern, or issue they should have handled it better. It's possible there might be some degree of racial prejudice involved too, since you notice the original poster points out the ethnic group of the staff member. While you cannot get the chance to see what they are. I do hope you, as a reader, if you are in need of services from this VERY deserving organization you will NOT let this very negative review turn you away. They have a long track record of helping low income people in need. I've been living on Social Security Disability income for quite some time now and they have fed me for a long time through their fo

Sunday service is at Faith Step Ministries which is located next door to the Salvation Army Thrift Store on W. Gate City Boulevard
If I don't have a lease can I get a hand written document from my landlord?
Go around to the Gate City Blvd entrance. Ask the person seated at the front desk. They will direct you, to where you need to go. Not totally sure what you will need, however, it is always standard, and a good idea, to have your ID and SS card, on hand. From what I've heard from guests, the sleeping area is open "dorm" style--2 to 3 beds or cots, per area, where each section is separated, by a brick partition.
Lataysia, the urban ministries always openings and salvation army is literally 2 seconds from there.. Salvation army has programs for long term help also. They are located on elm eugene in downtown Greensboro
