Nice group of old heads and addicts. Smaller, intimate clubhouse for AA meetings. Gravel parking lot and smokers under the porch. Not super welcoming to the younger crowd during earlier meetings, but if you go enough, they'll give you your time. Everyone seems to know everyone kind of feel. Good place to get sober or get your court papers signed. Good luck folks!

A safe space to get sober and heal from trauma. The gentleman in the video was using the private property to sleep at and is misleading. Police are only called when people are making others feel unsafe. It is not a shelter but open to all to attend day and night meetings.

Have a self-loathing friend; would ya love him until he can love himself, it raise a sink about things that don't matter?

He needs to be willing to learn a new way of living. It took most of us time , but each one of us had to be willing. We would of course welcome him and love him til he could manage to love himself. Bring him by and drop him off for a meeting. If he is serious about recovery he will eventually get it. Only requirement is a desire to stop drinking. No dues or fees. We are self supporting through our own contributions.

What's the statement of responsibility?

Mike Dowda | Apr 8, 2022

Responsibility Statement I am responsible, when anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, I want the hand of AA always to be there, and for that I am responsible

Why is the Eastside club board (elder members) so gnarly/unspiritual? Constantly controlling, unloving, unsavory, unhelpful, mean, antagonists toward one person looking for help? Where's the love, and tolerance at?

Naw, this is a focused kind of hatred, with team building, like high school girls that don't like the newcomer, and go out of their way to make them to hate (evil begets evil), or act out, get them drunk, or whatever so they have a reason to kick that person out. Like extremely childish, rather than childlike. Huge difference, and it's not sometimes. The ones like this, are REALLY like this. It's a shame, really. Those long passed, who died sober, are rolling over restlessly in their graves. God bless 'em!! Whispering in the background, posting signs, getting upset when someone leaves a bike, that just so happened to be light headed the day before, and got a ride. High school, but very "get off my lawn," crotchety, almost. Petty, and not what being of maximum service to God and fellow is about; exclusion. Sadly, it's the only black (African-American) person around that time.

Are the new old timers, as loving, giving, patient, compassionate, selfless, and helpful as the old ones? Also, do they REALLY put their own personalities aside, to observe the spiritual actions, led by love, in the principles?
