The requirements for obtaining a massage license in this state are outrageous. I've had licenses in Florida and Arizona and am highly qualified to administer therapeutic massage. Since it's been over 20 years since I've attended massage school and the school is no longer in business, I need to contact the massage board in Florida to see if they have the documentation from my school. In addition, the NC Board of Massage requires history of all past work experience along with phone numbers, addresses, etc... When I asked a board staff member if there were exceptions for those in my situation who didn't have references from over 20 years ago, she said there were no exceptions. I'm also curious about how the $200 application fee is spent🤔. There are several other ridiculous hoops to jump through, one of which is having to have several medical personnel references. I don't know what motivates the board members to think up these insane regulations, but they really need to rethink their criteria for licensure.
Sulfur of the philosophers
Only called but have always had issues getting hold of a person and when I did very quick to avoid any questions. Typical government branches, accomplish nothing but red tape and get paid by tax payer dollars.
