I Would definately recommend reading all the bad reviews before getting an animal from here. I got my dog a few months ago and was told he was house trained… that is not the case had to house train him. Didn’t have all of his shots/vaccinations like they told me he did, and he has a VERY destructive behavior. (Shoes, couches, etc…) most of the staff are friendly, there are some that aren’t. And they over charged me for my dog and had to go back for a refund. I still have my dog, but he is VERY hard to train. Would definately recommend fostering before purchasing due to the destructive behavior of multiple animals if they do not get their way. I have had friends and family adopt an animal from here and had to return them due to the behavior issues.

The girls were SO helpful in helping me find out if my new puppy was chipped! Great people there

Also...time to get some dogs fixed. But these organizations should be helpful - give them a call.
Why can't you take them? There are rescues for that breed that will take them.
Take her. To humane society also call veternarian they have a cure for. That at that veternarian also go online and look up free veternarian care and health care for feline cats also some veternarian clinics & vet, hospitals will guide you in the right directions ask for phone numbers to call about getting free vasinactions shots for the sick cat because they have a cure for that also you could call aspa or call around your phone has google on it ask it to give you phone numbers for free vascanation shots and free vet care for a sick cat call the aspca and tell them your neighbor has been mistreating his cat and horibile living condition also tell then the cat is sick and needs vet care
I would like to to have them
My daughter found a black baby bunny in n the back yard and no body in the area wants it meaning probably was abandoned. I wish we could but it's impossible to keep this animal with us. We have 2 dogs and it's been problematic. Can I take it to this shelter?
Your dog will be well taken care of. We adopted what we believe to be a bully lab from them. I don't know if they will keep you updated, but I bet if you call after a while to ask they will let you know if your dog was adopted. You can also see their pic on their website. If it doesn't show up once you've seen it on there, then you know it's been adopted. 😊
Did you find a home for her yet? If not I'll try to help find her one
My wife and I paid a fee of 75 dollars for maintenance, veterinary checkup, vaccinations, in fact we adopted a 9-year-old kitten named Charmander, in less than a month he has adapted to us, his new home, etc. Finally, the people who attended us were very kind and helped us with the paperwork for the adoption, they lent us a cage to transport Charmander, they gave us a bag of food, and a bed for it.
If you are a foster you can contact the foster or adoption team by email and they can look into updating info and pics. It takes a little time for updates to take effect. The website is live updated so if animals are adopted or become available they will show up or be removed. If it is not updating there may be a technical issue.
Ok Humane pulls from shelters, including okc animal welfare. They have an application for owner surrenders on their website and may or may not have space to take an owner surrender. Many rescues pull from okc shelter, you might have good luck with finding a terrier breed specific rescue. The adoption center on western is only for adoptable animals in the program to be viewed and adopted. They have an open adoption policy, great adoption counseling and adopters must agree to the adoption contract which outlines care expectations and other specifics. They do not do pre-screening or home visits like some rescues. (That's what open adoption policy means)
Yes absolutely. I just got a Reba Saturday, and they have such a clean climate controlled environment there for all the pet's. Plus the people who help foster pets are so nice and helpful. It made finding my new best friend so easy. She will be cared for with much love.
Yes! Go to www.okhumane.org and you'll be able to see all of the volunteer opportunities, including fostering. That might work for your situation!
If you are in the OKC city limits you can take them to the animal welfare center and turn them in there. Otherwise you can go to okhumane.org and download and fill out the paperwork for the humane society. If they feel they can take them in they'll contact you with instructions on where to turn them in. If you're in the Norman area they have an animal welfare as well. Good luck!
They will fix him up
Yes.
I think you could call your local 'veterens hospital they can guide you in the right direction
Contact the police department (non emergency line) report them and they will help getting the humane society involved as well
No. You may try the zoo. They might know of places that would be willing to take them.
Please make sure that you can afford a dog before adopting. Also, though adoption fees are typically around $150 for a dog, remember that this includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and microchipping. It's much more affordable in the long run to pay the adoption fee than to pay for these things individually. And they must be paid for. If you can't do this, reconsider adopting until you can afford these things. A dog is an ongoing expense. Imagine how many dogs end up at OK Humane because people couldn't afford them. You dont want to end up having to surrender your best friend eventually.
They are always needing volunteers. Go to the website and fill out an application and they will contact you
Yes. 7500 n. Western
Contact SOONER GOLDEN RETRIEVER RESCUE. Good people with kind hearts.
A home for a dog ??
We are unable to take strays from the public so working with your city shelter is best. We get over 80% of our pets from local shelters, primarily Oklahoma City Animal Welfare.
They have info about their animals preferences, personalities and breed info. It'd be a great a place to choose a pet n know what to expect
Yes you can. Although I would try to post on some fb lost animal groups. Someone will want them
I would suggest going onto lost and found pets in Oklahoma and any other fb groups you can find
They usually do.
You can submit to owner surrender them on their website but this location is only for viewing animals in the program available for adoption. This is a rescue and not a city run shelter so they are not able to just take found animals that haven't been reported through the correct city shelter and served a legal stray hold. The city shelter for where they were found is the organization that you could take them to. Some shelters require appointments depending on circumstances. Oklahoma city shelter is Oklahoma City Animal Welfare on SE 29th.
Most animals in the adoption program get fed Science Diet
You can check on the website for instructions/help on rehoming and there should be a form you can submit to them to see if they have room and to set up an assessment.
The adoption center is for adopting animals available through Oklahoma Humane Society. They have all available animals listed on their website and it is updated live. It changes fairly regularly. There is also the local animal shelter and nearby city shelters. Other rescues I believe have events or website applications.
I'm sure if you really can't keep the dog take him up there an if he dose everything you say they won't turn you away.i just got a dog from there an he is 1 an a half an potty trained. An he was abused.i couldn't just walk away after they told me that.so just go try if they tell you no they will send you somewhere that can help you.good luck with everything we will pray for yall!!!
I think they will but you better get there at open. There is a long line of people usually there.
Yes, it's a no kill shelter. You would have to call them to see their availability. From my understanding they are only able to take in when they have foster families available since they are a no kill shelter.
Yes
Yes
It depends, puppy fees are a little more than a dog who is 7 months or older. The website is also helpful with that if you wanted to dive in further. Our adoption fee was $205 for a puppy. They really are amazing here!
You can check their website regularly to see what animals are available, it changes every day pretty much. If an animal is adopted they are removed from the website, when they become available they pop up.
I'd call and verify, but I believe they do accept surrendered animals, from their pre recorded phone menu. Not sure as to the details of whether you'd need to ensure they were up to date on vaccines or whatever
They have kittens on their website: https://okhumane.org/adopt/cats/
Ok they take dogs. I don't know what your question is.
Yes I'm sure you do so they can take their time getting the information they need. Plus make sure everything goes smoothly for you and your dog. Less stress
Definitely a NO kill shelter.
You need to call them and ask. I don't work there. Sorry.
They are EXTREMELY busy there, even though the graph shows an *average* low volume of phone calls. Please allow 48 hours so they can find TIME to call you back.
Humane society or. The bella foundation all you have to do is google this on your phone for all the information like the phone number and address to there location
I think you can. It would be put into foster care. But call to be sure. If anything, wait til you get back from out of state. They never have a shortage of kittens.
Take them to the humane society or you can google on your phone and for the phone number to the bella foundation they take cats and find them homes or ask your phone number to paws organation ask for the phone number to all these places they will take your cats and find them . a home also the humane socitey will give you cat food for cats
The foster family will bring the dog to the shelter to meet you. I think you might need to make an appointment. Ask the Shelter to contact the Foster Family. That's how it worked for me (but that was in 2000. I don't know if things are done differently now). My daughter and I met the pup and got to ask a lot of questions about him before we decided. He was a really good dog! But he has now crossed the rainbow Bridge.
I would call the front desk
They only do adoptions at this location. They are a rescue not a.city shelter so they can't accept stray animals as they will need to go to a city shelter and serve a stray hold before OK Humane could pull them into their program. If you own a pet you need to rehome or surrender they have info on that on their website, that would be at a different location by appointment. The only thing the adoption center can legally do to help with found animals is to scan for a microchip.
Check their website out for current dogs available for adoption. They don't pick specific dogs by breed, they only adopt out what dogs get turned in. https://www.okhumane.org/adopt/dogs/
You may have to call or go up there.
This location doesnt do any medical, just adoptions. The pricing for everything they do offer is on their website. The location for the spay and neuter clinic is what you are looking for its on s western and se 59th street.
It was a good showing
Moore Humane Society no longer has free adoption weekends. They realized most of the animals taken during free weekends were brought back to be rehomed.
You may want to call first
If you're in Oklahoma City all you can do is surrender them to Oklahoma City Animal Welfare as a stray. Animal Welfare Officers will only respond to aggressive/nuisance animal calls. They won't respond to stray calls if there's no immediate danger to the public.
You would have to call
They profiles of all the dogs available on their website.
Look it up on their website...I know you can email them and they answer back very quickly. The ladies are very nice. I never volunteered but I fostered.
Our grandchildren were 5 and 3 and 6 months. This place is awesome they just ask u wash ur hands after every room.
This location is only adoptions. You can surrender a dog adopted from them by appointment only. If it is a dog not adopted from them you can fill out the rehome form on their website and they will set up an appointment at their intake location. If you cannot wait you can surrender a dog to OKC Animal Welfare and recommend the dog to OK Humane by the intake number as that is where most of their animals are pulled from. This organization cannot legally take found pets, they must go to a city animal shelter first.
Call or go up the facility.
From the feed store
You can check their website every day to see who is available and who is there each day. If you dont seem to find what you're looking for you might consoder applying to be a foster to find a dog to foster to adopt.
Yes, all you have to do is call them and they will set you up a time to take her to the intake facility. I'm sorry you can't take her!
Yes! They have hours on their website along with photos and bios of available animals. Adoption is first come first served.
Oklahoma City Animal Welfare is doing free adoptions today, visit okc.gov for details. 2911 SE 29th St
Did all of these suggestions, still poor customer service⭐
You can also look at their website and see if the pup is at the facility or is an email to set up an appointment to meet. Their animals are not housed at the facility but in foster homes only. They are taken back each evening to their foster families.
This location only does adoptions. At their spay and neuter clinic on South Western and SE 59th shots are $10 and can be scheduled online.
This rescue works only with cats and dogs. I believe there are rescues in OKC that do work with bunnies. The OKC animal shelter does take bunnies
Spay and Neuter clinic is at a different location. Drop off is in the mornings around 8pm and pickup is by 5pm. It is by appointment only.
Nothing they do not accept drop offs. The okc aminal shelter accepts rescue aminals
Don't know would have to ask them.
$200 for puppies and that is under six months. Adult dogs, 6months and older are $150 to adopt. Kittens under six months are $95 to adopt and adult cats are $75. All animals are microchipped, fixed, up to date on vaccinations and preventative medications.
Do you have any full blood dashounds?
They do not vaccinate at this location, but can refer you to several local low-cost facilities that work with the shelter.
This location does not but their spay and neuter clinic does. You can find more info on their website. If you live in oklahoma city you can also get animals fixed for free through okc animal welfare.
Yes they offer all birth control for pets.
I don't believe so. At least not yet.
There are cats at the adoption center, so you can adopt one whenever it's open.
